    Terrible news, thanks for posting.
Any news on Brian? Haven't seen him in a long time.

Shared from our friends across the pond at WW2Talk.com.

Ron, or Mr. Goldstein as he asked me not to call him, was a mainstay at WW2Talk during most of the existence of the forum.

Interesting, engaging, knowledgeable, friendly, there are so many superlatives available to describe him and I can't list them all.

Until a few years ago, Ron visited here regularly and commented occasionally, so only a few of the old hands here will know him and appreciate the loss in his passing.

    Rest well my friend.

Just received this note from Marsha, the daughter of Ron Goldstein:

"I am writing to tell you the sad news that Ron passed away at home yesterday, after a short illness, at the grand old age of 97.

I know how much he valued his association with you and the London Irish and how interested he was in all your projects.

He was a lovely man and we will miss him very much.

    Very best wishes"

A lovely man indeed and we shall miss him greatly.

Very sad. I note that it is just over two years since my old friend Gerry Chester passed on. They are all going quite fast now, we should treasure those that are still with us.

Gerry's loss really hit us at 2T as well.
    Remarkable chap.
(Even sadder that his splendid website got broken up too. One of the best tank-related things I've seen.)

I did not get to talk with Mr. Chester as much I would have liked. He seemed to be a man of character and an all around good chap.
Tom and I did talk quite a bit and locked horns from time to time. Regardless, I valued him and even with the occasional fender scraping, I hated to see his passing.
