Agreed PoG was an excellent film, for me the canteen scene with the german girl forced to sing for the rowdy troops who then are overcome by her singing was perhaps the most powerfull part.

Hi Price, thanks and, im in the process of looking for some stills from that movie to get-and have already asked my European dealer to see if he can find some? If so? they will be mine and I would gladly have the stills made onto a mug and send it to you as appreciation for all your help-especially recently ;-)) The only fly in the ointment is, is that I dont have any stills yet but I see them around from time to time and have been wanting to get a collection of those going too. It might be several months though, before I get any stills from that movie. But when I do? ill gladly send you a gift that is practal and one of a kind ;-))

Speaking of that girl, she was married to one of the behind the scenes "big-wigs" who helped Kirk Douglas make that film. I dont know the name of the song she sang but, I have heard iton other vintage war movies before. To me its a sad song and almost is as good and meaningful as: Lili Marleen, is to me. I love both songs and Marleen especially when sung by: Marlene Dietrich. I could understand easily enough how those two tunes could make even the most "hardened" of Soldiers, break to shedding a few tears.

Hi Bel/ i'd salute you along with Price but im out so repped ya instead ;-))

Quite welcome. Also, I cannot be totally sure but, I don't think she made another movie after this one? Just can't remember details about it and her. Also, I think she died fairly young too-darn shame.
