    Vehicle type
Australian Cruiser Tank Mk I "Sentinel".

    Current location
    Bovington Tank Museum, Dorset, England.

    Condition
Possibly the most complete AC1 in existence. Incorrect camouflage pattern and the serial number on the tail is in the wrong location.

    History
Designed in Australia at a time when tanks could not be sourced from elsewhere the Australian Cruiser Tanks were ultimately not needed and the programme terminated in 1943. Of the 68 AC tanks on hand at the conclusion of the war in 1945 three vehicles (two AC1 tanks and one AC3) were to be preserved for museums in Britain and Australia. This is one of them AC1 serial number 8049 shipped to Britain around 1946.
