    The former Argentinian BattleCruiser General Belgrano sunk during the Falklands War, was a former US world war 2 cruiser and a survivor of the Pearl Harbor Attack.

    What was the name of the ship before she was sold to Argentina?

    AHHH..You gotta be quick around here...yeah TA's right for sure the Phoenix, thats why I always remember it. The Phoenix bird rises from the ashes, in this instance, it was ironic that it did so at Pearl only to be sunk in the Falklands by an Exocet Missile I believe it was...

    I will keep the theme naval again.

    During WWI and WWII there were shortages of steel and iron. In WWI they made some cargo ships out of cement. In WWII they experimented with making ships out of wood chips and what other item ?
    Hints; The allies tried this and it would not work in the Pacific theater. Prototypes were made in Canada.

    Trust me Red Dog, it was Ice. THe brits had this crazy idea to make an aircraft carrier out of Ice.


    Besides, i dont believe styrofoam had even been invented.

    I didnt know about the air carrier idea, but there were tries for destroyers in the North Atlantic where the hull was ice I think......
