A carbonated beverage is a soda. If I want something in particular, I ask for it by name, e.g. a Coke, a Pespi, etc.

As for the second, I don't use any wording. I just tell people what I plan to do. I might say "I'm going to..."

Yes, I'm a Yankee. Both of my parents were raised in Philadelphia (not the one in Mississippi) and so was I.

When I was a youngster and be'in from the Mid West we'd call soda - sodie? I've been schooled on that! And I also learnt that a carbonated beverage has a whole nutther aspect when it comes to "Mixers". If you ask "Where's the soda", here they send you to the baking soda aisle.

Since moving up to the North Woods I've caught myself saying "I'm aboot to get to that". Been saying that a lot to the wife lately too.

    We have a winner.

    "Want a coke?"

    "Sure."

    "What kind?"

    "How 'bout a Sebmup?"

I was just testing his Southernness.

In my youth in Glasgow UK a carbonated drink was known as 'ginger'. It did not matter whether there was ginger in it or not!

IN NYC and environs it was soda but when I went 300 miles NW to college in upstate NY it was called pop.

It was often called coke in Atlanta 25 years ago but that's fading now.

I thought "pop" was that Michael Jackson crap

When drinking a carbonated beverage, do you wear one glove for no apparent reason?

The ten reasons sound pretty good to me! Off to Urecht on Sunday so will report back on my findings. Have had some amusing discussions with the Dutch - very funny people.

Doctors, Medical Specialists, Nurses and support staff volunteering to be front line troops in the attack on Ebola.

Hero's. Every last one of them.

Every living person on planet earth thinks of them every day, thanks them and wishes them well and all the best.
