    That is interesting, since there are no moer tanks in the JS-series which fought during WWII.

    JS-3? I believe it saw limitied service in Manchuria in 1945

    There is no record of the JS-3 ever fighting in WWII. A small unit was stationed in Manchuria, but there is no evidence of any actual usage.

    You are right in asserting that no substantial evidence exists to prove that the JS-3 ever saw combat... I have heard rumors that it fought during the defeat of the Kwantung Army in August 1945, but thats not evidence ;)

    However the point remains that the tank was 'operationial' during WW2... It was at least, as you say, deployed in Manchuria and it participated in a 1945 victory parade in Berlin... therefore Gunter's question "was it used in ww2" has to be answered with a 'yes' whether or not it saw combat...

    I was thinking that too and i found it more appropriate to answer "Yes" to Gunter's question...

    About the quiz;

    Used in ww2?
