This below is from a 2 page document I managed to get a few years ago when a WWII German Sergeant Majors estate was broke up into bits for sale by a greedy seller. Outside of various German Archives and such--you will NOT--find these type items except with very rare chances. I do not know anyone else who has something like this in private hands. What makes these docs very valuable (especially to me) is that I have the names of every man who served in late 1941-in the 2nd Kompanie of the 1st Panzer Regiment. Also, there is load sof research potential from these names which is to my liking since I collect names. Anyway, one of the surprises that I found once obtaining these documents--was that since i had already had 3 original photos of General Heinz Guderian, and in each of those photos, I noticed a taller slender younger officer who was always with him where ever he went. That young officer happened to be one of Guderians personal Aides-or his "Batman" if you were? Anyway, on getting these documents--I found out who that Batman was. On one of the pages of these two Docs--he is listed on it and is also listed as being ""Borrowed"" by Guderian to serve with him. Apparently Guderian knew the man's family and chose him to be with him as a member of his personal staff. The list also lists names of men who were--or would later become Knights Cross Recipients, or recipients of the German Cross in Silver or Gold--among others.

I almost forgot to mention that the young officer above first served on the staff of General Erich von Manstein, then was released to serve with General Heinz Guderian.

One of my few original pics of General Heinz Guderian who was visiting one of his Headquarters somewhere on the Eastern Front. Seen here with his Pilot--a Luftwaffe Oberleutnant--and also his young Aide freshly acquired by Guderian from General Erich von Manstein. He is the young officer to their left nearer the tree. The young officer was: Leutnant Eckhard von Schack.

Quite welcome and, if interested in a source for these type photos? let me know. Also, most will not be cheap but will be worth the price paid. The exception is that ill not pay $300-to-$350 for a snapshot photo of a Tiger tank--which he sells on occasion.
