Have you not heard/read about the battle plans?!?!?! Bush has sent the missiles in order to clear the war for the ground movemtent which should be taking place within the next 24 hours....this means 'hand to hand' combat! I think you're whole "conspiracy" theory has been proven wrong by the events of the last 24 hours... DUCE
If I understood it right the missiles were meant to kill Saddam and his "right hand men" with the first strike. I guess we don´t know guite surely yet if Saddam is dead or alive, as the broadcast by Saddam on tv might be recorded as well. But if the first strike was a miss that means a longer mission for sure for Bush and men. On the news it said 1. the huge bombing missions are on their way and reach the expected daily missions in a couple of days 2. Saddam has launched a couple of Scuds ( which they did not have ) against Kuwait 3. Several oil fields in southern Iraq has been set on fire by Saddam´s order
Thats the samething ive heard on our stations over here. Now that it has started, maybe it will all be over with soon.
Not according to the Fox Network, Reuters, MSNBC, CNN (Communist News Network) NBC, ABC, and CBS Networks.
I thought Iraq was allowed to keep their scuds, no one ever denied they had them anyhow. I love the way sky news are talking about 'Royal Marine Commandos' and 'US Marines' as if they are comparable forces, rather offensive to our RM blokes I would have thought.
Not according to what all these news agencies are reporting. At the end of the other gulf war--Scuds were banned. It had something to do with them being used on Isreal and on the Kurds in Iraq.
Speaking of media. NBC is owned by General Motors- one of the biggest weapon producers. I really don't think anyone should trust them for any coverage. Best regards/ Daniel
Turkey has decided to invade norther Iraq in order to hinder any Kurdish rebellions. Kurds have said that they will open fire on any Turkish forces entering the region. I wonder what will happen. Best regards/ Daniel
The Iraqis apparently have 4 casualties, Umm Qasr has been captured, Mosul and Baghdad have been assaulted from the air. The Republican command and government are the main target in Baghdad. The Marines of both UK and US are well and truly in, as well as a unit of the Royal Horse Artillery. US 3rd Infantry have gone in across the border, the RAF are attacking military installations. Royal Marine Commandos have gone over the border as well and the Navy are still bombarding targets. Did anyone see Blairs speech? It was impressive, almost persuaded me. At the moment though I am becoming rather apolitical, mainly because the part of me that wishes I could be there doing something now has just got considerably bigger. It actually makes me realise at least to some degree why so many men volunteered in 1914, hell, I would volunteer now if the Army werent already processing my paperwork.
I think US should have given Diplomacy more of a chance but id be sickend with myself if I didnt support troops, even if there not from my own nation. Apache Hellicopter Down, Pilots missing. I just hope the airforce/army/navy finds them safe. The ground battles will start soon. Dont expect too much surrendering though, these men are not surrendering because they Like USA, Because they are scared, Only Reg army will surrender, dont count on Republican guard, although it would be GREAT if they did. I didnt hear about Those scuds yet, Iraq is not allowed Scuds, only missles with 95 miles Range. You seent the Americans and Brits, theyve been complaining they are not allowed to attack yet. Hand to Hand combat is what most people join the army to do.
About Blair's speech, he was lying... He said that Britain was united, has he watched television at all the latest days? There are huge protests all over Britain, London's burning (metaphorically speaking). Further, have he noticed that some of his fellow politicians are missing? The majority of the people in Britain don't support the war. Old ladies were saying things like that they were ashamed, one old lady said that she had returned her membership card. Think about that. Is Britain united? Is Blair speaking on behalf of the British majority? It's really sad that British soldiers have to fight a war that most of their people don't even support, I truly feel sorry for those soldiers. There IS a crack in the Union Jack.
