the results of British Polls shown here in America say that 65% of the people support war in Iraq Which is true
3rd Mech. Div, and 7th Cav still unoposed, and there quite the way into Iraq, cant wait until sunlite in Iraq, so CNN can show there corospondice with the Military, and you can actually see whats going on. The war with Iraq is really only supported really by 3 nations, Kuwait, USA, Israel, as far as majority of population, but it will be great when this war ends with Coalition victory, just hope it may come soon adn without any/major losses.
That is not true His Finest Hour CvM, I'm actually astonished that such figures are presented when they are obviously incorrect. I also find it strange that you are willing to believe those figures. In the UK 44 percent of the population are against a war , 38 percent are for and 18 percent haven't made up their mind. About 80 percent of the Spanish population are against a war. Best regards/ Daniel
A Q for our American friends: Now that everything French is being banished from the States (as I understand it), and anything bearing a reference to France is being renamed (i.e. Freedom Fries, Freedom toast), I wonder, have you guys also stopped kissing in that fashion.....or has this become "Freedom Kissing"? Curious from Holland...
LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE HERE KNIGHT:- 1) Saddam Hussein has been committing atrocities against Iran, Israel, and Kuwait, as well as his own people since 1979. 2) From 1992 until 1998, UN weapons inspectors found and destroyed illegal weapons, CHEMICAL weapons and the start of a NUCLEAR program no less 3) The Iraqi civilians have nothing to do with this so-called terror you say that GWb wants to reign on them-you say they are cowards, better to avoid confrontation and save lives. Saddam had his chance, to leave peacefully-he refused, now he gives the coalitiuon no choice but to bomb the civilians as well...
Time to react! 1.) He fought against Iran. He got chemical and biological weapons from the US and had the permission to use them against Iran. He launched a few scuts on Israel. But that's it. Kuwait was an act of war. And of course I don't think it is good that Sadam killed his own people. 2.) My question for you is: who did he got these weapons from? Who delivered those weapons? 3.) Let's suppose that - in 40 years - China says that the US is a threat to this world and that they are violating UN resolutions. They ask the president to quit or else the Chine would bring peace to the country. Would your president leave the White House. I don't think he would. If the US asks something stupid like this, the world must obey, or else ..... Maybe the US needs another war on the homefront to realise what war really is for the civilians. Let's make it clear. I hope that the US never have to fight for their lives on the homefront. But with this policy, ...
Hand to Hand combat is what most people join the army to do. [/QB]
Uh, you sure about that sport? Most of the guys I know who joined the army did it to pay for college.
Some encouraging news of the Iraq armed forces defending their homeland: (from BBC News Online, Friday, 21 March) "1145: Officials in Washington confirm that a US Marine has been killed in Iraq - the first reported combat death. 1115: Iraqi president offers cash rewards to anyone capturing an enemy soldier or downing an enemy aircraft, the state news agency reports. 1000: Southern Iraqi port of Umm Qasr 'not yet secured' by US Marines. 0725: British officials confirm that eight British, four US troops killed in helicopter crash in Kuwait. 0520 BBC correspondent Adam Mynott, travelling with the US Marines, says troops are meeting stiff resistance as they enter southern Iraq from Kuwait. He says there is no sign of Iraqis surrendering." Realistically there's no doubt that the aggressors will succeed, but at least the Iraq people can be pride of giving the invading enemies a hard time. Right now, it seems that Iraq don't even need to use WMD's to defend their country. Cheers,
All wepons given to Iraq were done during the Cold War and after the Americans were taken hostage. That was then and this is now. France made a nuclear factory for Iraq. Not to mention France hates Israel and they love Iraq.
200 Iraqis just to surrendered to British, if not more then 200. So what you're saying is Iraq is in possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction? "Dieser Monster. Er tötete seine eigenen Leute, aber sie kämpfen noch für ihn. Ich gab sie von der Tyrannei frei." That's what Hitler said about the Slavic people in SSSR. He was freeing them? He killed millions of them.
I prefer to call it a "liberty lick" </font>
HAHAHAHA! I LIKE that one! Good one, Doc! Any more takers? Now....Where is my wife.....
Dunna know. But if they have them, they can use them against their enemies as a very last ressort to defend their homeland from outside aggression and sure defeat. Every country would do so. Right. He started a war of aggression on the USSR. He justified it as a preventive war. Cheers, [ 21. March 2003, 10:56 AM: Message edited by: AndyW ]
At least I'm not brainwashed by all the money E.U. makes from Iraq. It is no secret that if Saddam stays in power E.U. continues to make money.
Actually the casualty figures quoted are wrong, 8 RM commandos who were on a US Marine Helecopter went down have been killed along with the 4 crewmen. That brings it to a total of 12 dead on our side. Soldiers do not join up for hand to hand combat, actually most soldiers I know are anti war (not this war specifically but believe that military conflict is a last resort only) and actually hand to hand combat is one of the least pleasant things they have had to do in recent times. The people who join for hand to hand combat are known as nutters and tend not to last long. As it goes though I have a feeling that British troops will be used for street fighting more than US troops if possible as they are the finest OBUA soldiers in the world, (except maybe Israel but thats only because of their unique method of clearing streets). The sight film footage is very impressive, my friends, we are living in interesting times. B52's will be bombing Iraq any minute so turn on your televisions. Actually I heared a very funny report this morning on the radio, the reporter was with the US Marines and said something like: 'we are retreating, not a headlong retreat but we are running pretty fast, we are running away very fast now...' I couldent help laughing at that, so much for the walkover everyone was talking about. They called in the Royal Artillery to deal with the position and rolled over it as I hear.
