    Hi,
My Great Uncle, Pat Esposito served in 752nd during world war II. I was wondering if anyone has any information about this unit and what Battles it was in. I'd be particularly interested if anyone knew if any members of this unit were still around. Thank you, Anthony

Thank you. I had written to that person and address a few years ago but did not get a response. However, this is the first time I've seen an email address. I'll definitely try it. Thanks so much for the info and the welcome.

I would not be surprised if that Prodigy.net address is no longer valid.

    752nd AAA Gun Battalion (Semimobile)
Formed 12 Dec 1943 in Hawaii, from the 2nd Battalion, 96th Coast Artillery.
    Landed Saipan 6 Feb 1945
Landed Iwo Jima 11 Apr 1945.

Credited with the Western Pacific Campaign.

I would suspect they fired 90mm AA guns, similar to this emplaced gun:

He arrived at both Saipan and Iwo Jima after both islands were declared secured and probably provided anti-aircraft support for both. As far as battles he may participated in, mostly likely it was the isolated Japanese aircraft that may have over-flown the island, but those were few and far between by this phase of the war.

You're right JW. I got a delivery failure for the email address. In any case, thanks for the response. It's greatly appreciated. I do know that he saw some action because he was awarded two bronze stars. Thanks again
