    V,

Your gonna be the baddest company clerk on the block. Watch out for those papercuts when your going through your special forces training, and make sure when you go into battle you have plenty of ink cartridges and a pencil sharpener.

    :D ;) [IMG]

Does anyone remember some quote about "Hand - to - hand combat is why soldiers go into the army"? :D

Hey, lay off guys, I am going to join the SAS next year ;) , training? Pah, its a laugh, nooooo problem, I can walk into it. Or not! So am I to take it that you find the idea of anyone 'planning' on going into special forces as funny as I do? I always thought you had to earn it, oh well. V, maybe you should change your name to Upham? Oh, and I wouldent repeat the 'hand to hand' combat thing, people will think you are some kind of trigger happy maniac and you will be very lonley all by yourself in your fox hole.

    HA HA HA

Very funny, you should write jokes in the books.

Yeah right. One is a veteran (probably of KKK militia) the other is some school student and third I don't even know.

When one of you make a good living then you can make fun of someone.

Eh? No one mentioned the liklehood of violence to me at the careers information office...

I joined for the travel, the comradeship, the chance to learn new things...

Went back to the recruitment office 2 years later on and asked the guy to give me the sell story again...as I was still waiting for my turn on the slopes with skis, and the toboggan run, and my windsurfing course still hadnt been signed off..

I never did get my turn in a glider, although I once got the opportunity from the Royal Sigs display team to lay down in front of their motorcyle display team...Funny that...lots of RMP got that offer..

Anyhow, sorry for causing offence, I just find it very funny, I thought the US SF were hard to get into.

Yeah, V-slav, joking aside I have a lot more respect for you knowing that you are joining the forces, it at least appears to show a concern for the world and things above the mundane, well, that or a desperate need for a job (as in many peoples cases). Best of luck and all that, enjoy it and keep us posted.

When do you leave for basic training ? Can you do lots of push ups and pull ups ? Do you like getting screamed at around 5 in the morning ? Can you run around with 90 pounds of junk on your back ? Can you hit the side of a barn with a rifle ? PS Do not call a rifle a gun ! EVER !
Can you make a bed in 30 seconds or less ? Are you used to running in the heat in heavy boots ? Do you mind people near you snorring all night long ? Just some of the joys of basic training in store for you. Plus I have never heard of a recruter that told the truth in any service in any country.
Good luck, who knows you might get in SF. Somebody has to do it, and it might as well be you! You just have to be in the right mind frame of being abused for 8 weeks in basic training and then getting sent to a hell hole like Fort Hood.

PS; I still like Enemy at the Gates for a movie. You have to admit it was not as dreadful as Perle Harbor. What a dumb excuse for a movie. Instead of SF you might try making army training films and make them interesting for a change.

    Good luck V-Slav.
As for good basic training movies I think that the only good movie for that genre is Tiger Land set during the Vietnam war. That is a very intresting film with some good characters

Tigerland is almost as bad as U-571. V, do not watch this film.

I can do about a hundred pushups, and about 20 pull-ups. The military is cheap because I have to bring my own running shoes to basic. I've used a hand gun before but never shot with a rifle, except I once had an AK in my hands. Screaming and being abused is what life is all about so this experience won't be that much of a deal.

    THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
