Most obvious, look at the length of the recoil cylinder first and that there is no gap between it and the barrel.

Some more incredible finds, I really like the goldened lid of the cigarette box with the elephant on it and the aspirines.

Detail pics? Aren't these pictures clear enough? The box know lays in a bucket of acid, to get rid of the dirt and rust. I will post a picture when it is clean.

Found this US Case XX 337-6Q Fighting Knife in the Eifel last weekend, along with some other small items. Like some buttons and buckles, some remains of porcelain RAD plates, K98 bayonet frog, US TL22 pocketknife and some German toothpaste.

    Hey Nick!
Love the full box of ammo, what an incredible find! If I do ever get over there, I hope to ge searching with you to find my own shell casings! I may just have to find a job and move over there, which I am seriously considering now. It would be a grea experience to live in a different country! If I do get over there I'll let you know!

Here some older finds from a few months ago.
On 17/18/19th of October I went to visit the Schnee Eifel forests together with a friend of mine. Where we did some finds overthere.
We stayed on a camping, searching by day, and drinkin an having fun in the evening.
The first day we found some ammunition and other small stuff, and a steel SS buckle in bad shape. It belonged to units of the 2nd SS Div. "Das Reich". The day afterwards brought us more ammunition unfortunally, which we all left behind. Remarkble where these two German Panzerschreck rockets. They layed in a dugout together with a US Mk.II handgrenade.
The remaining founds of that weekend where 2 German "Göffels", a lid of an US messtin (ww1), a razorblade US, rotten gasmask container and other small stuff.

Here some pictures of our "base-kamp".

Just a reminder: Unexploded ordinance like those panzerschrek rounds can still be very, very dangerous. I suggest leaving them for experts to dispose of....

I'm aware of that. We also report this found to the right authorities. As in most cases with ammunition finds like this.
