My 11 year old has been playing this for awhile. I've noticed more of my books are going missing off my shelf & ending up on his bedroom floor.
Enjoyed it for a good while. Spent a couple of quid here and there but you can grind out almost everything if you want. Just takes time. Got a bit bored with it eventually, but then I always seem to with online games.
Sprog was controlling a 2 pounder armed tank the other week , firing on the move & hitting targets. Thought that was unrealistic . I've not been tempted to play but do like the graphics, better than Roblox the other game he likes alot.
I have this game installed on my laptop but haven't played any games for quite a while. It's a good game to be honest.
I was given an account for WT by a player who used to play quite a lot and had a good number of high level AFV and aircraft. I've only played a couple times, but it is quite fun compared to others. The human vs human element makes it much more engaging than games vs a PC.
I used to play it alot with my sons online. I managed to advance to fairly high levels with the US and Germany without having to fork over cash. If I'd better understood the usage of the in game currency when I first started, I wouldn't have had to spend anything. I think I put $20. on my account and still have $16. dollars or more of it left. It is a lot of fun, and is constantly being improved, if you want an armor or aircraft combat simulator it's one of the better ones out there.
It certainly is a fun game, but like with all games Russians design, they seem to have a bias towards the Russians in the game...slightly better etc than they were IRL perhaps...
ive been watching a lot of the mighty jingles, who has a great sense of humour. my favourites are his analysis of entertaining sea battles. also does the wot etc. i tried to play wot and discovered too much time is required for my short attention. hollywood is dead...pro gamer videos are more entertaining than anything old tv could dream of... its all utube for me now.
.....it's good....but with different tanks makes it ---goofy ..and the bigger problem is you have no defense against air--they can kill you at will ..then you have these little tiny '''things'' that can get nearly into your spawn area before you get out of it
arent there mods to take care of that kind of thing. i see rust admin often tortures banned users...some funny tubes about that. watched a few anti air vids on thunder. radar missiles, whirble wind, 50 cal anti air ... it looks very difficult to master. i should learn guitar or harp instead of spending a lot of time online trying to master war games.
..there are AH- Cobras going against my IS6!!! ..I've never seen AA missiles on my team....there are battle rankings that are supposed to keep the battle balanced...but you have King Tigers going against Leopards/etc
...maybe in about 1 out of 5 games air will take you out--maybe a little more or less.... ..the other thing is, some vehicles have smoke and some not--which is good if you are hit--you can smoke and get out of there.....some have faster reloading times = advantage...some have missiles and guns /etc ..the other thing with air, JU 88s and ME262s are taking out tanks!! in built up areas/etc! = bullshit ..hitting all kinds of tanks. ..in one game our side had a huge advantage and game just about won.....we were near their spawn and spread out ....but air took us out/etc
I have never played a MMO game. Some seem very interesting but how can you play such games on your own time? For instance you want to play one hour and then save and continue later, I don't think it is possible without pissing other players. Plus, I heard those games are "infested" by hordes of kids who get really abusive and offensive Not an experience that I would like to have as an adult.
....War Thunder doesn't have much abuse at all...it takes much patience - not much action/etc..because it's a tank game and fun if you like that sort of thing ...games last maybe about 15 minutes or 20....you don't save them..in the other MP games, you don't save them--you can get out whenever you want...no problem ...I played Rising Storm -a first person shooter and there were a lot of ''kids'''/youngsters...we had voice chat and they could tell I was older ...'''how old ARE you'''' they usually asked [ hahahhaha ] .they were ''surprised''...but there wasn't much trouble..they liked my way of commanding ..with a commander sometimes you have jerks, but most of the time, nothing gets out of hand .....without a commander, no one really cares ...maybe other games have those problems, I don't know --I've played COD, MOH, Rising Storm, etc and never had problems with people being jerks ....sometimes you get team killers , but not much
Interesting. But how does it work? For instance, let's say you are in the middle of a game and you have to quit, what happens? Does your tank "disappear" from the field or the AI takes over? What about Worlds of Tanks? Does it work in the same way? Is it good? I heard that War Thunder is the most realistic MMO tank game. Is it more realistic than WoT? For instance about tanks historical characteristics, ballistics etc. Sorry for the multiple questions
np...they are legitimate and good questions: ..yes, your tank disappears ..I played WOT a couple of times, long ago...I would think it's the same ..yes, the characteristics/ballistics/etc are phenomenally realistic : turret rotation speeds round penetration tank speeds armor--sides/rear/top/etc main gun vertical guidance etc here's a link to my tank, or you can google IS6 War Thunder yourself .....graphics are very good ....I've stated what I don't like about it...but it's fun--but not super action....I would like it much better if they had ''similar'' tanks for each team....be they WW2 or Cold War/etc IS-6 - War Thunder Wiki
Thanks Bronk7. I looked for some info and found that WT is the most realistic of the two, so I might give it a try. It seems more difficult to master bc there are aircraft and other stuff as well, but I like tanks. I didn't know about the IS6, was it a real prototype? Strange that the armor is not thicker. Me, I'd like to try the T32E1.
...I don't know as ....I don't know as much about the IS6 as other members here .... ..like on many MP PC games, you have to learn the maps.....I try to always stay near cover, so if I shoot, I can get back to cover...the biggest thing for newcomers is to learn the maps/enemy hiding places/etc ...well, you can google WT beginner's tips and tips
