"The little marine", "the future marine"; he's not really given a choice is he? :D
That was of course meant as a joke. And since a joke never works by the time you have to explain it, just forget it.

It's ok! l shuld have qualified tis-My father -in-law, who is French-Canadian (and 5 ft.6) calls me " Le grand infant de marine"-"the Big Marine"- (am 6 ft. 3), 235 lb ,and he calls my son William ( who is 17 monts old ) "le petite infant de marine"..Hence the nickname for the coming arrival...l
    P.S.: ME-262's joke worked....
P.S.S.: Do you know why the date on the "Propaganda Posters" heading has not changed? :smok: :smok:

Both!...."Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Only The Shadow knows..." hahahahahhaha!

Here are some photos KBO-note the angle from which this British 6 pdr. was taken-it makes it appear like a larger caliber..The St, Chammond mod. 1897 75 mm (modernized in the late 1930s with pneumatic tires) was photographed by my friend at Les Invalides, in 2003. Also, a British 8-inch howitzer built in The U.S. During WW1, the British government placed large contracts with the Midvale Steel Co for these howitzers. When the US entered the war, Midvale received contracts from the US government which designated it 8-inch howitzer, Model 1917. This is the carriage used by the 6-inch gun Mk. VIII gun which appears in the "Artillery Quiz"

    Best Regards : :p

Interestingly, I had seen it on the 4-wheel carriage but not on the 2-wheel carriage!

Listen Ferengi, I do not blame others for my mistakes..l simply filed it under the wrong heading.I''ll post in in few seconds.Look at these guns in the meantime, according to the writting in the back of the photograph, , they were taken at the Confederate Air Force; Harlingen, Texas, 1986.-Note the Consolidated B-24..it was in flying condition a few years ago, when it came to New Jerey in a Fund Raising Tour, along with a B-29 and a C-46....

What's the funny-looking gun on Mic111? The one with the misterious widening at the breech. A recoilles gun?

Sorry about the last few posts in this topic not sounding very continuous, I split the many congratulations to Scaramouche to its own topic. Some sentences in those posts were related to this topic.
