Possibly, but this would have been a risky business, complaining about the way the Vaterland treated you wasn't the smartest thing to do thse days.

Sounds like a Wedding to not miss ;-)) My Nephew (Jared) and his Frau (Mallory) had their Ceremony at the Corpus Christi Art Museum (where many Weddings take place because of the scenery and also being just across the street from the Bay) and the catered food was - well-unbeatable and no expense was spared. The only thing that could be said to have marred the ceremony-is that a strong cold front blew through and with it it rained most of the time but-when the outdoor ceremony was held-it quit raining long enough to get through the ceremony and for everyone to enjoy several songs while dancing ;-)) We all had a blast ;-)) I got to dance with one of Mallories older sisters-and she was quite pretty (but taken :-( ] to say the least. We got along together rather nicely.

Hi Hucks, that might be plausable. Also, I wonder if he might have got into some severe trouble at somepoint and was placed in a Penal Battalion. This simular thing happened to Remy Schrijnen-though I don't think he was ever placed in such a unit but more was one of the Kompanie men who had to volunteer for all the "Dirty Work." Thankfully and needless to say, Remy came out of his predicament smelling like a Rose, later winning his RK ;-)) and the rest is history as they say ;-))

Having now seen the Hausser signed KvK citation it seems that he was promoted as it is dated August 1941 and shows his rank as SS-Hauptscharfuhrer, so it is a case of either the Volksbund has an incorrect listing for his rank or he was actually demoted back down to Unterscharfuhrer at some point from August 41 & April 45.

Thanks for the welcome, this seems a friendly place.
I was really lucky witht the pab. I was in a flea market in Stuttgart when I really didnt have a clue about how in depth some studies were on this subject. Not much clue either about the fakers. My partner spotted it on a stall run by a friend of her family, I tried to haggle, as I was told to, but the little old woman was having none of it and stuck to her price, she told me it was very rare. Anyway I bought it for 90 euros when the exchange was £1 to 1.44 euros. Dead lucky. I couldnt believe it when I returned home and found out what version it actually was. Im really glad you like it.

Hi Mr.S. that PAB is a beauty. I only have one of each (Silver and Bronze) and yours is an outstanding example. Also, to get it at that price was indeed a good price depending on what sites you look at. SOme sites I see them trying to get upwards to 300 Euro for them which is insane to say the least. Most sites will have them upwards from about $140.00-to-about $175.00. I bought both of mine about 5 years ago for $75.00 each. It's been ages since I last looked at both of mine but I think they both are hollowbacks-I know at least my Bronze example is a hollowback, not sure on the silver?

Anyway, this is a friendly site with minor interruptions at times, but a great site none the less.

Here are another two of the mans awards. Although he has about another 2 dozen award certificates for sport, swimming, diving. He has a certificate for the SA sports badge, the DRLG in silver and in bronze.
I will post more of the rest later.
Im really glad at the response this grouping is recieving.

    regards John

Hi John, great new additions. I like the "character" that shows on his WMC w/Swords 2nd and the DRL badge and docs.

After having a very quick look at one of the diaries, part of which are typed, which is much easier to read than the written entries, I thought I would post this section as it has references to Goring, Julius Schreck and some other entries of interest.
I have also included the back of one of the photos as it shows a nice developers stamp and more info that I do not know, on Limbacher.
I hope you like these as much as the other items so far.
There is just so much to wade through in the diaries.
Entries from 14th March 1932 right through to 27th July 1938, where life must have gotten really hectic, as a lot of the entries are scribbled.

Hi John, though your pics are good, I cant tell much but that it seems to be a him writing down what and where his Duty assignents were, and also talks about some school experiances??

I wish Andy/K were here-he'd be the forums person to go to for translating/. I can try looking at the pages longer as soon as I have more time so i can be more detailed but-basically the Jist of it is describing his dutes and schooling and such.

Hi Chris, phoned my father in law to help me with the translation of the second page as it seems full of the important names.
    Roughly, from "Ich selbst"
I have the luck to be at the entrance when the Führer arrives at 8.45 with his loyal men. With Göring and another person they greet the old soldiers,
The Führers chaffeur Julius Schreck talks with SA men at the Furhers car.
The Führer stays for a long time after the festivities
It made him very happy. (Fritz I think)

Also Gasth Walhalla, was a very famous eating house/pub where Wagner was played in Bavaria. Reliable source of info on that one.

I will get down to translating more soon, but there are a lot of hand written entries too, mentioning all sorts of names, duties, places etc.

    John
