Hey guys. Just thought I'd make a post since its been awhile. The army just stationed me in baumholder germany. I've been here since tuesday. Anyone got any history of this place. I'd really like to find some photos of it from the time when the german army used it and what units trained here. Anyways germany kicks ass. I love being stationed out here.
Interesting 'then and now' shot here: World War 2 (ETW) And I'd guess you've seen this: http://www.baumholder.army.mil/media/History/History.htm The 1AD museum looks interesting: 1AD Museum Template Pictures: http://www.1ad.army.mil/Museum/outdoor.htm Cheers, Adam.
Hey PG, I was in Baumholder in 93-94. I understand the base to have been a calvary training base and later panzer training. The area where the class VI and shoppette are were the stables for the horses. That is all I know about it. Have fun. Tschuss!
Thanks for finding that picture. That field about 200 meters from my barracks. I'm actually across the street from it right now typing this up. it looks pretty much the same. well the barracks do. Thanks.
