Ya there are two strains, 1 is the deadly 1 and the 2nd is the 1 that is almsot harmless to the human.

Really, I was hoping for the 1s one because there are no major wars to control the human population.

Did anyone hear? Someone in the LA area got the bubonic plague. Looks like Mothernature is back to whip out a large percentage of the population again, or is she?

Bubonic plague is no longer a real threat to human health thanks to our understanding of the workings of that disease now. We know how to quarantine properly to isolate the virus, and if I remember correctly, several common antobiotics can kill it.

Speaking as a medic...there's really no point in getting vaccines and measures to prepare for the avian flu.Because viruses are the hardest to treat and if Grieg will agree, viruses mutate. Two person may have the same flu but different strains. So the vaccine is not effective.A cure will just trigger an even more complicated strain.

Correct though the same is true for bacteria, two people can be afflicted by different types.
Also if I might add, it seems to me this whole thing got an overreacted response (gee that's something new) as I haven't heard anything at all about it for at least 3 weeks now.

and it takes a couple months (about 4 in belgium) to prepare enough vaccins when bird flu is getting a pandamie. so, not much help from the vaccin side. anyway, how is it with bird flu?? did anybody die lately? do we still have dead floks of birds??
if you ask me, H5N1 just dissapeard from the earth. no more large articles in the news or in newspapers. seems that nobody cares anymore. guess it wasn't as deadly as everybody thought.

Well, it is now in Britain, and thousands of chickens etc are being culled in East Anglia.

well, it isn't the H5N1 strain.
so, a new strain. in a couple of months it will be another on. we are having new bird flu's poping up for the past years. only H5N1 seems to be lethal for humans.
