That's how it always happens, foreign workers are brought in to fill the need of an aging population, then come all their relatives ;D

That, or they send the bulk of their income back to their families in their home country where it has more purchasing power.

    Breaking news-
"A woman was taken hostage by a suspected terrorist at a tram stop in Brussels today, witnesses say.
Police shot the suspect as part of a fresh swoop to thwart an 'imminent attack' on France.
A second suspect was also shot in the raid, which began in a flat nearby in the Schaerbeek area of north Brussels.
Dramatic footage shows police coaxing a child away from the injured suspect who was shot in the leg at the tram stop amid reports he was carrying explosives.
Belgian prosecutors confirmed the man was linked to a planned attack in France, foiled by the French authorities last night Thursday.
Eyewitness videos show the incident unfolding at the tram stop where the 'neutralised' suspect dropped the bag, which was then investigated by a bomb robot. "

Careful you are quoting the Daily Mail here and some do not approve of its reporting methods. For me the only question would be why shoot someone in the leg. Killing stops re-offending.

His lawyer won't let him. After all, he's just a mixed up kid who fell in with the wrong crowd after mean Belgians microaggressed him by eating bacon.

It would have been tricky to shoot him if he had hold of a woman and a child was nearby. The priority would be to disable the terrorist and I think they did pretty well.

The problem is that there are still people in Belgium as the journalist who lost his daughter in the subway attack and when asked by the ISIS lobby to appear on TV, he was talking about love ,not hatred . The ideal receipt for defeat .

Where there on december 8 1941 people in the US who had lost a son at Pearl Harbour and were saying that one should love the Japannese and not hate them ?

The present Beatnik generation may bleat : make love, not war , but reality is that we need hatred, not love .There is a war on and people must be killed and in a war there is no place for love for the enemy .

Oh yes it does. Pension systems all over the world are dependent on returns. We have NIRs. Due to lower birth rates, there isn't enough. What is funny that in Illinois the pension systems are still singing how good it will be. The state takes in 30 bn USD per year. The budget not counting pension obligations is 36 bn. The state pension systems are 250 to 350 bn USD underfunded even if you figure the return rate they are using at 7% long run returns. Not going to happen. Europe is no different. There aren't enough bodies to pay the obligations. Much of Europe is in denial and in worse shape than the US which is bad enough.

But the illegal immigrants and even the refugees that are flooding in to Europe will not be working, will not be earning, will not be paying taxes but will expect benefits, housing, schooling, health care all from the budget we have now. If we are already heading for bankruptcy how is more expense going to help?

Why can't the governments where the migrations come from be sued/assets seized?
Mexico, for instance, should be handed a large bill for expenses incurred. If they don't pay, seize assets. Why should US citizen retirement be jeopardized in order to prevent illegals. No US citizen tries to cross the border to live in Mexico.

    "Back on topic"?

Seriously, this is about the topic, and not because you don't like the concept. In Germany, many Turks have taken low wage jobs. The idea is that some from Syria will do the same to help keep pensions rolling, otherwise the system is bankrupt. There are normal people wanting a better life among the refugees.

In the Midwest, many farmers would much rather employ illegals, not because of the wages. Some get paid better than what locals get paid. It's because of the quality of labor. Some of the illegals are very hard working and dependable, much more than young guys with a high school diploma who barely skated through and have no goals in life except drinking on the weekend with buddies.

The Europeans system is bankrupt. The refugees represented a chance to put some dough into the retirement bread. In the US, Illinois is the worst, but a number of states are right behind. 401k's? Negative interest rates? Seriously think that will fund retirements? Not a chance.

This situation is largely about this, not just socialist humanitarian ideology. As mentioned, Europe is in worse shape. Digging out of 300 Bn USD on a 36 BN budget that is taking in only 30 BN with a declining work force?
