Gotta read the end of news articles first...

So, it has not been decided yet. This may have been a trial (no pun intended) balloon to see if there will be any blowback if they let him off lightly. Since our society can't seem to give serial killers the death penalty without wringing its proverbial hands, I wouldn't be surprised if Bergdahl was just given a 15-minute time out and a stern, yet compassionate, talking to.

Then reinstated to active service and promoted to staff sergeant with back dated back pay. And a POW Medal.

Well it gives his excuse, not necessarily the truth as to why he left. I think it's BS and most of the guys that were with him agree and have so stated. I say convict the turd, he forfeits all pay, allowances, and benefits. We're now too PC of a country to hang him or put him before a firing squad, too many people would get their panties all wadded. So, why not revoke his citizenship, find a country that will take him, deport him there and ban him from ever setting foot on American soil again, let him live in exile the rest of his cowardly life, like the old story, "The Man without a Country" by E.E. Hale (though at least the protagonist in the Hale story was not a coward).

Roger that, Bob. Good plan. His story is weak at best.

His jury should be a group of his peers. Say, the other members of his Company. Judge advocates from different branches of the service.
