What you guys should really be worried about is Stefan having a contract with the Nippon Electronics Corporation to get a million units made and delivered next month! We Japanese may not be the most inventive lot but we have the market cornered on making those consumer electronic gadgets ..... :D

El Diario del Sol, Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 16th 1939.

"WAVE OF VOLUNTEERS OVERWHELM FRENCH AMBASSY

Authorities report that since a week ago, when the French Goverment of President d'Épéhéry launched the worldwide recruiting campaign "For liberty, for France, for you!", more than 5.800 volunteers from Buenos Aires alone have answered the call. French consulates around the whole country are said to have a constant number of incoming volunteers. "We'll go and teach Hitler a lesson!" said Roberto Ponchielli, a 21-year-old student from Buenos Aires who enlisted this morning along some friends.
Similar circumstances are said to be taking place in the rest of Latin American capitals and the United States."

Le Matin, Paris, August 15th 1939.

«FRENCH PRESIDENT IS APPOINTED PRIME MINISTER

Yesterday, the French Parliament approved with 439 votes for and 125 against, the appointment of Friedrich d'Épéhéry, President of the French Republic as Prime Minister of the country in a measure to make French political leadership abler to rapidly respond to Europe's growing crisis. This appointment gived d'Épéhéry special faculties to rule over domestic policies, specially those which have to do with the Interior and Economy Ministries. The Parliament, however, remains the second authority in France and can restrain some decisions made by the executive power if they involve a constitutional reform. The President should hold these powers for a one-year term and appoint a new prime minister when this term expires, unless the Parliament decides the opposite. The French President-Prime Minister said: "This is a measure intended to have an agile and intrepid government, not a dictatorship. I won't be prime minister forever, not even president forever. For God's sake, I'm young! I still have to live many things. But France's recquires a lot of work to-day, she needs courage and determination. I'm willing and decided to do that. I'll handle the executive powers of prime-minister in exactly a year from now and those of president when my period expires. This is not an 'Enabling Law' like the one the Nazis passed on spring 1933. Hitler's 'emergency powers' have been going for 7 years." Outside of the Parliament, the President was cheered by the crowd.»

Most of France's orders are ready, but cannot complete them until I have discussed some affairs with Lord Mahoney, President Davey and Premier Stalin.

By the way, Yesternight I tried a "red telephone" communication between Paris and Washington and it was very, very productive.

Think all players should get ICQ or MSN to make the game more agile, easier and much more interesting. ;)

Friedrich, I just added you to my AIM list, lets see if we can resolve this amicably? ;)

Come on, that would be great, 1939 and peace breaks out.

    Friedrich,

I have msn messenger... But the time difference may pose a little problem, but it would be cool for a summit meeting and for treaties!!!

    CVM,

Stop winding up Freddy by telling him you are in cahoots with the nips!!! ;)

I am waiting to hear from the Soviets... They are the quietest out of all of you...

    Hmmm...

Just being so busy with all the planning for the country!

Anyway, got new orders to release for tonight and must admit some game details have surprised me this far. We´ll see what countries are about to make deals and it´s not like the original 1939, I think.

    ;) ;) ;)

    BTW, Friedrich,

I think I have some good news for you...

    Flipping bankers!

Actually, I just had a thought. If we were to set up an MSN group for the game we could build a chat room into it. That way members could spread messages without guzzling forum space and we could actually hold conferences etc (between all nations during peace time, however long it may last before someone invades me anyhow, and between allied nations during 'wartime') .

I am still waiting to see who is going to make the first moves, my bet is on Poland, though I have to say I am genuinly worried by the huge and silent Russian Bear. At least I have some idea that other nations are up to something, but from my POV it sounds like Kai is sitting smoking machorka! ;)

Jeez, now I know how Hitler felt...

EDIT: And to think they gave me internet access at work to make me MORE efficient?!?!

    Ha haa...

Definitely not sitting but maybe smoking machorka, Stefan!( tastes awful BTW )

The problem is that I have always studied the German war machine and now I should understand the Red Army and its generals....that´s the problem!

I´ve read a couple of books on the Russian development from the 1930´s and still studying the **** 1939-1941 period to be able to finish my mission.

And back in 2000 I told myself I would never buy even one book on Red Army history...

    ;)

Well, if you need any advice you know who to ask...

As for the Machorka, well as a RKKA re-enactor it gets handed around all over the place. It is truly vile. Speaking of re-enactment, could you get them to make the button holes on the Gymnastroika larger please, they are so damned fiddley. And remember to make the changeover to more Tsarist uniforms, otherwise my re-enactment kit will become inaccurate...

    Now thats surreal...

Stefan asking Kai to order larger button holes in Russian tunics for easier re-enactment...

I hoe the campaign dont go on so long that we get to re-enact it!!!

Well, I figure this is my chance to change history, hense the order to set up a Swiss Bank account in my name and to fill it with the uniforms of certain key individuals (Wittman, Kurt Meyer, Rundstedt and so on).

Am I taking this too seriously? I think not!

    Stefan,

Would you please send me a PM with your AOL AIM, since I don't have AOL right now, but I can access to it from ICQ.

Also, gents. The MSN idea is great but I'm not able to successfully download it, because this is an old Machintosh, first I have to up-date its system to download the MSN… it's quite a mess. We'll see what I can do, but still I've got ICQ. Any issue you want to comment with the French goverment, please send a message to: 141733599 (ICQ). ;)
