In this photograph of part of the Great Russian convoy captured in a forest at Salla, a Finnish soldier is happily contemplating a string of sausages hanging from a captured Russian sword. The loss of the convoy which included, as will be observed, foodstuffs received from overseas must have been a serious blow to the Russians, whose lines of communication are precarious in the extreme.
