I lived most of my life in Alaska and there has been an ongoing thing about trapping and shooting wolves near the Denali Park border. Wolves are protected within the park and fair game anywhere in the state, outside the park. Wolves (and lions) can't read and they go where they please. When wolves are killed just outside the park border Animal Rights people begin wailing about it, and the trappers (usually natives who want the pelts) tell them to kiss their gluteal protusions.

I've also seen wailing and gnashing of teeth about hunters taking elk near the Yellowstone Park border. The elk tend to move into lower country outside the park as winter approaches, and those routes are known and exploited by hunters who want a freezer of elk meat.

Man is part of the environment. He has always taken meat animals, and he has always taken predators like lions and wolves. As long as the law balances the numbers taken, nobody should have a problem with it. If this land owner and the hunting outfit broke the rules, they should be prosecuted. The client wouldn't have known anything about that. If it was illegal, he was cheated by the outfitters and now he's being victimized again by death threats.

This individual has a felony record for illegally shooting a black bear and pretending it was done on legal grounds .
