Thats odd, you might want to retype in the keycode. Then again, it is Treyarch, and i dislike the way they do the MP. If anyone wants to play tonight/now, hit me up on xFire (panzerpenguin) and if you don't have xfire, get it. VERY useful! Also, best way to level up in the MP is playing Search and Destroy. First time playing I went from lvl 1 to lvl 9 in one map!
It's gotta be a diffrent set-up for computer. When I played over the weekend, not alot of time for it though, It said I couldn't play anything other than Free for All or Team Deathmatch until you reach Lvl 14.
Thats really goofy, as that shouldn't be the case (IE. I played Search and Destroy as level 1.) Maybe a bad install?
Sorry Musso, misunderstanding. I double checked and my computer wont handle the game, so my copy is for the 360. I know, blasphemy.
Look what der PanzerPenguin discovered while visiting some relatives in the Pacific! Are these Two Rogues? Or Two Thugs ready for battle? I will let you decide!
Definitely shady characters ^^^ It seems our online gaming has developed a pattern. An hour or 2 of struggling to get things rolling followed by a couple hours of enjoyment on the battleground. Since I had issues both times with my Creative Audigy card I have pulled it out of my computer to be replaced by the onboard sound. I'm anxious to see whether this issue is completely resolved now. I tried searching for a reason that 3 of us couldn't connect on Xfire, and I'm still perplexed. I've never ran into that issue before. As far as joining up on a COOP map, the only other thing I've considered is that my Windows firewall was enabled. Wouldn't it be amazing to run an evening glitch free? The Search and Destroy game scenario we played last evening was completely different than what I thought the game would be like. To have each short round with single death elimination was very challenging. It really appears conducive to cooperative play. I had this game pegged as pretty but without a lot of substance, but it appears there is a lot more than meets the eye.
Just out of curiosity, Has anyone beat the campaign mode yet. If so What difficulty, if not how far have you gotten? What level are you in online play? Anything you dislike about the game? For me, I've been playing on Hardened to start with, and just last night beat the T-34 level, breaking through the outer defences towards Berlin. Online play i'm at level 22, but havn't played in a couple of days (online). So far my only "beef" with the game is that you can reload you M-1 Garand at any point. Your not supposed to be able to do that.
I've completed it on Veteran, and it was ridiculous, constant respawning and the infinite spamming of grenades, Heart of the Reich being a prime example of both. It's been like that throughout the COD series but it is just wrong now. I've completed all COD games on veteran and COD 2, although very frustrating it still felt fair, and you felt accomplished when completing a level on Veteran on COD 2. But in COD WaW it just takes it too a new level of ridiculous. Online is good, but the weapons don't seem exactly balanced, you can just go round and win in any fire-fight with an MP40. The perks system is getting annoying, at least again in COD 2 it took more skill. When I first bought this game I would have given it 9/10 but the more I play it the more my rating of it goes down. Saying that one additional thing I love is Zombie Mode, that's a great add-on and I merit Treyarch for this at least.
The key problem to this game is the fact that it was made by Treyarch. I don't what they were thinking after that COD 3 Debacle, but I HOPE this is the last COD Game that Treyarch makes. The grenade thing is annoying. The indicator that a Grenade is near pops up, but you can't hit 'G' to throw it back for whatever reason. I've been killed by more grenades then I'd like in SP. Last nigth especially while playing MP I noticed the imbalance, especially when it came to SMGs. There is NO WAY that an MP40 or Thompson can kill a man consistantly from half way across the map. I would have had trouble making a kill with a rifle at that distance, yet here is an SMG able to kill me? And the GARAND RELOAD thing is crazy. Thats like, the most simple thing, and has never existed in any of the other COD Games. But again, I point all this issues at Treyarch - the whole Online Profile thing is more then annoying too, so is the inability to change you name with out creating a new profile that starts from scratch. Treyarch took a good thing and made it bad. Don't get me wrong, the game is still fun to play, and multi-player is always fun in COD, but i'd like to see some of the above mentioned issues sorted out.
I finished yesterday on normal. I'm starting Veteran now. Its been awhile since I played a FPS, so I needed to shake off the rust, lol. Hopefully I'll get to play some multiplayer and co-op, too. The zombie mode is fun. I agree, the accuracy @ sniper distance w/ SMG's is crazy. Oh well, its still a fun game.
For those who have the PC version, download xFire (if you don't have it) and add me to your buddy list: PanzerPenguin I'd really love to get more of you online at the same time and play together. Also add: 1PP as the Clan Tag.
I guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together but as it was mentioned above the sub machine guns are deadly accurate. It takes the fun out of using the bolt action guns. There is no penalty for a higher rate of fire. I switched over to the Thompson from the stock bolt action gun and noticed an immediate improvement (which isn't saying a whole lot, but getting kills was much easier). I like the boost in my capability through switching to a SMG but that removes much of the reason for having different classes in the 1st place. Red Orchestra was much more accurate in this respect. Battlefield 2 who's movement system was arcady at least had weapon deviations that you could deal with by learning their characteristics. I also read somewhere that the German and Russian tanks are also equal to each other. There are some very fun aspects of this game but it really seems as if COD WaW has not done it's homework.
I was dissapointed with the MP, have to feel sorry for Treyarch even, they tried to please the COD4'ers and it didn't work. Nazi Zombies is the only good thing about MP. I beat solo on easy. The Russian missions are the most fun I think. Oh and Musso, you can throw grenades back, press the mouse wheel down..
Yes, but it doesnt always happen or work. Normally it tells you to PRESS G or MOUSE3 TO THROW GRENADE....but that doesn't work as it is supposed. Not to mention the grenades that kill you that dont show up on the screen etc.
Yes I was hoping as well. That would be my main cause of death. They throw them at you faster than you can throw them back. In online play (maybe just for the Xbox) once you make so many kills with a certain weapon you have a small sight similiar to the Red-dot in CoD4. This I do not like, though I use it on almost everything. I hadn't really noticed the Accuracy issue untill you guys brought it up, but you are right. One should not be capable of "sniping" with a PPSH. I Thought I liked the online acheivments but the other day some one was jumping out of every window he could find to acomplish the "fall 15 feet and survive". He wasn't even playing really.
lol. I accomplish feats like that accidentally. Climb into a window and then literally jump (hit spacebar) and move forward usually does the trick. Not a big fan of the 'black-dot-sight' either. I doubt it was very common. Or the flash suppressor. I am rank-26 right now and recently got the Bouncing Betties Perk, which I shall now use to kill enemies even after death! I also have the bipod for the BAR, which is very effective when defeind (increased accuracy, steady shot).
Y'know, with COD5 I am desperately trying to like it, but I am beginning to realise why everyone hates Treyarch so much. But what choice do I have? My new computer does not play COD4! And even if I wanted too I couldn't play COD5, grumble grumble.
TODAY'S BIG MISTAKE I've been playing COD5 quite a bit. I've been joining in with Panzer Penguin. I made it up to somewhere around level 25. Today I decided to reformat my computer in an effort to resolve some nagging problems, one of them being mic echo on the Xfire connection. Prior to reformatting I searched for the profile information so I could retrieve it after my reformat. I found a folder named profile under the COD5 program file. I copied this to another drive. After re-installing COD I looked at the Multiplayer information and everything from before was gone. I tried placing my profile information back to where I initially found it. There was no change, all data was lost. I just posted a question about this on the COD forum, and I learned that I pulled the wrong profile file. The correct file would have been buried in the Documents and Settings folder. Hopefully this might help someone to learn from my mistake if they are planning on a reformat soon. It is very demoralizing to start from scratch.
i have call of duty 5 on ps3 anyone here who also has it on ps3 tell me your name so i can add you & destroy you at online play!
