Thats interesting to know. Thanks for telling me Carl. Plus I'm about to order my tunic and trousers for my reenacting so I guess I could add that onto my collection.

Hello all! I've been floating around these forums for a while now. Ever since Modus and Panzergrenadier showed them to me, so a big thanks to them. As far as WWII collecting goes, I'm really into photographs.

Currently I have 7 origional photo albums totaling over 1150 pictures. Out of the albums that I currently have 3 stand out. 2 are from the same man. They follow his service in the RAD (Stationed somewhere in Norway) and his enterence into the Wehrmacht. He served with 2nd Panzer and it follows their early war path into Russia.

The 3rd standout is one that was issued by OKW following the XXXX. A.K. through france. It is in mint condition and I have never seen anything like it before. (If anyone has an information on photo albums like this, please let me know)

Also in my collection is a diary that was kept by a young EM from around September of 1939 through September of 1940. It is about 90 pages long and has multiple entries. I am currently in the process of getting it translated (it is in cursive German, which I never got the chance to learn)

As far as other militaria goes, I am a WWII reenactor so I have the standard; Stahlhem (origional paint) Affe, zelt..ect.

It's good to be here amongst you all!

I collect German and Danish WW2 stuff.

I have a K98 bayonet, with frog, and maching numbers. Some german armbands. 3 dogtags from ss rgt. 24 Danmark, and one from Freikorps Danmark. I also have Rgt Danmark cufftitle and armsheild.
Then i have some medals, and helmets, pictures and a Hitler Jugend knife.

I also collect infomation. Because i have been contacted by a Faroese writer, he wants me to help him make a book about the few SS volunteers from Faroe Islands. I have now tract down 6 Faroese SS volunteers, 2 of them are still alive.
I have contacted the families to the ones who are dead.

So if anyone know any Danish veterans, i really would like to hear more about it.

Hello Langemann and glad your here. You have some really outstanding albums.

Your collection of fotos blows away mine by a far chot. I have maybe 115 ww1 and ww2 fotos.

Since my last posting on what I had, I have added a Kriegsmarine Officers Schiffchen (which was given to me by the U 181 officer who wore it) several more sets of shoulderboards and collar tabs--several long ribbon bars and a VERy rare and VERY nice 3 place ribbon bar that belonged to a member og the German Imperial Royal Family or to a man who was a member of the Imperial Royal Court. Research is ongoing, to try to find out who he was. Believe it or not--I only paid a mere $30.00 for it from a antique and militaria dealer.

Also, add to my lil collection, about 20 ww1 Imperial German military crosses, 2 Loyalty To The Regiment Crosses 1 Regimental pinback award and a mint set of 51st Inf Regimant pinback matching stickpin set.3-2 place Imperial German Medal bars with 1914 Ek2s, Anhalt-Friedrich Cross, Friedrich-August Cross and another paired bar with the very rare Lubeck Hanseatic Cross.

2-3 place medal bars with one including a Loyalty To The Regiment Cross, and another with a Bavarian Officers award (I cant think of the name just now  )

Two mint Kriegsmarine cap tallys; Kommodant Wilhelmshaven and a VERY rare Wilhelm Gustloff tally.

Im still waiting on some pictures to arrive from Germany, along with a set of Reichsheer Majors boards.

I think thats all the new stuff since last reported.

3 Imperial German 3 place medal bars

WWII German smallarms & accessories, grenades, munitions, shells. Fascination with battlefield relics, particularly from the Ardennes. For some reason I especially covet my 'relic' close-combat knife from the Bulge ; displayed alongside a mint-condition example, looks superb!

Great stuff!!!. The only items I had that were from the Battle of the Bulge were two US Corps patches taken by a German Sergeant. He took 10 or so sets of these different Corps patches from US prisoners. He gave a few sets away to a few people including one set to me which I inturn, decided to pass them on to a friend of mine in Switzerland--as he collects US stuff since I normally only collect German.

I also have a nice, 'relic', discarded MG42 barrel from the Ardennes. All I need is an the MG42 to go with it ! My absolute favourite 'bit' is a decidedly relic MP44 magazine, rusty, holed, but still operable and marked 'MKb42'. If only it could talk !

Hello Matt--yep--I do collect ww2, but I expanded into ww1 and older Imperial German items. I have two significant pieces that I got for a steal. A 3 place ribbon bar from arouind 1870, that belinged to a future German Kaiser (ill gather more details later on him) he ruled for only 99 days because he died from throat cancer.

The other piece is a mint set of 5th Uhlan Kav Regiment Rittmeisters boards that had belonged to Ewald von Kleist. Both of these items TOGETHER set me back a whopping $70.00. :D :D

Ya know I have this old Panzerschreck 54 sitting around; I sure wonder what theater it was used in and how many tanks it claimed. The inside of the barrel is quite black and after all these years has a very characteristic smell of death ! eeek

PS, I picked up a hugh thick book on German Snipers of ww1 and ww2--does look VERY interesting.

Also Detlev's site requires a password, etc now. Is where you picked up the Kriegsmarine Tsingstu tally ?

Sad but true--one now needs a password to access Detlevs site--thanks to a stupid law  Send me an email if you want my password.

The book on snipers I have---I cant remember the authors name but can let you know it in a day or so. I got the book--drove over to Bennegans to eat a chicken strip lunch and have sweetened iced tea. While there--I stared at my Bronze PAB and Silver IAB, then just before din din arrived--I ripped the plastic wrapping off the book and was reading a bit on ww1 German snipers--when I realized I only had 20 minutes to be at work  and I closed the book and havent had time to even touch it since then. But, ill look tonight when I get home and ill try to remember to get his name for you.

IM definately interested in the German book about their ww2 snipers--let me know more details when you know them and I want to order one. I have been holding off on ordering a copy of: "Iron Time" which is THE BOOK on all various German Iron Crosses since 1813. Trouble is, that it costs $100.00 off the bat  but it looks worth it.

Excellent prices indeed--I STILL cannot believe it, that I got them THAT cheap. I think the guy might not have thought they were the real thing--that they were possible fakes, but yesterday and today--after contacting a few Wehrmanct formers--mine were proven to be the real items :D

Yep, I think it's the Senich book but you can confirm that soon. Seems also that the WAwards site is the place to go for ID'ing German awards. I was on yesterday briefly and there are some beautiful scans of awards and of course a very knowledgable group of chaps there.

Erich--sorry I couldnt get here sooner--my sob stupervisor had me working from noon till 11:30 PM last night and today from 9am to almost 7pm--which meant that all libraries have been closed since 6pm and i have to use the inet cafe

Its confirmed--the book I have is by Peter R. Senich. I am a bit dissappointed in the fact that it all seemd to be strictly technical and not part biographical like tank Killers is. Will let you know morw as I delve into the book more. Im also still reading Through hell for Hitler and Panzer Aces by kurowski.

Just curious, is there any value to a one sided German banner? It is about 7ft x 4ft or so. Don't know how common those are.
