LOL. I "overnighted" deep in NJ's guts when she was coming out of mothballs, same for Big Mo. I didn't know what month is was at one point.
Arnheim British Lt. Jack Reynolds, aged 22, with LCPL George Parry in the background, gives the classic British two-finger salute to a reportedly grinning German Wehrmacht cameraman as he is captured near Arnhem, The Netherlands 19 September 1944,some 75 years ago today. German forces in Oosterbeek. There was bitter house to house fighting around the perimeter. A dead German soldier from 9.SS Hohenstaufen after Hauptsturmführer Gräbner’s failed Arnhem Bridge assault September 1944.
Its Friyay...Love letters from Australia... Canberra NYE Some red tailed blacks... Cassowary NT of course
Ive been searching this morning for a youtube video i watched last night...It was an American bloke (40 odd) who was known for his story telling abilities...This story was about a croc attack on the Finnis river here in the NT - Finnis used to be my second favourite fishing river...The bloke spoke like a native of the NT...got all the pronunciations right and all the little details were 100% correct...Here was an American holding a Territorian spell bound by a croc attack story...chilling and compelling! I really want to share it with you mob...
Yes. But it just doesn’t look like much protection between the fans and the croc. Especially to keep someone from falling overboard.
Yeah it can be scarey, but its supposed to be...People want their monies worth, and the tour operators know their stuff...if you keep everything on the inside of the rail, you should be fine, the croc will just shove the boat if it tries to get over the rail...There was a tour operator not long ago that was feeding birds of prey on the river for the tourists to get some pictures...something fell into the water and the operator stuck his hand in the water to retrieve it and brought up a 2 meter croc hanging off his arm... Thats his beer holding hand! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally found it! Mr Ballen - Never swim in this Australian River The only thing slightly wrong is the "Top End" only refers to the northern part of the NT. Finniss is middle far left on the map.
This one for you Half Track... A little Staffy was walking along Casuarina beach (In Darwin) - Now, dogs are a crocs favourite meal...many dogs go missing in the NT due to crocs...And a "salty" launched itself at the little staffy and got a hold of it...But as you know, staffies don't take shit sitting down, and hooked into the croc! Well the croc decided this wasn't going to be easy and let go... Apparently the staffy was fine about it and went swimming in a safer waterhole later on that day (tough buggers). The vet decided to leave the wounds as they would probably just heal over. He will have some cool stories for his future girl friends...
Sweet Jesus ! I stayed a couple nights with friends back in 1987. I think (?) their house was about a mile West of the picture location! Completely full of streets and houses then. And there was still a few blocks to the desert ! Can't imagine what it's like now.
I’ve been there three times, but the last was in 2002. I don’t particularly like to fly anymore. I could spend hours walking the strip. But the sound of those slots lulls me almost to sleep, late into the night, with a good scotch sitting on the machine.
Tax payers paid for all my visits to Lost Wages. The airbase took in lost lambs for the Navy and it was always an overnighter for the teams that collected them, despite it being a one day round-trip drive.
Once again, no name on her, but I forgot why? And I saw photos of the Missouri also without the name on her at one point?
Brewster, the pearl of the sky, by the Finnish pilots... Though Hans Wind was Finland’s second-highest scoring ace, with 75 total career victories, he was the world’s top ace in a Buffalo, having scored 39 of his victories in the stubby fighter.
