    What's that heavily "outlined" area on the ground between them?

    Sort of like the comment I received from a guy in Bagram 19 or so years ago. He said there were Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Brit's, and Aussie'son the base. I ask him were did the Navy park their boats and he said it's a VERY big beach !

    I know I know, SHIPS !!!!

    "Okay, recruits! Remember this! You pick up boats and put them on ships."

    Yes boats get pulled out of the water after use…Ships always stay in the water.

    The original ones used to yes…which is why they were designated as ‘boats’…Used to be launched and retrieved by ships.
    By WW2 the term boat for submarine was…incorrect.

    In my defense I did have a disclaimer to my previous post.

    I'm paraphrasing here but;

    Boats can be pulled by trucks.
    Ships can use trucks for anchors.

    REAL SAILORS were contemptuous of the new fangled submarines, referred to them as "boats". The fact that those early subs didn't have showers lead to the moniker "pig boats".

    You would have gotten along well with a cousin of mine. He served on boats aka submarines and dove out a window, clothes in hand, while stationed in San Diego
