The original ones used to yes…which is why they were designated as ‘boats’…Used to be launched and retrieved by ships. By WW2 the term boat for submarine was…incorrect.
In my defense I did have a disclaimer to my previous post. I'm paraphrasing here but; Boats can be pulled by trucks. Ships can use trucks for anchors.
