My dad's brother was a sub-mariner, served on the USS Conger and USS Cochino. They were test boats for a lot of new equipment post WWII in the late 1940's-1950's. He was involved in the incident where the Cochino was lost, they were spying on the Rooskies at Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.
