Was there ever any concern for sharks? I have seen numerous photos of Navy swims though the years, especially off subs.
Ive heard that "they" have found great white teeth embedded into the hull of aircraft carriers...I always picture a great white cruising along with the carrier trying to decide whether this is food or not...biting into it and being pulled along...all unbeknownst to everyone above...Imagine the deflated ego of Jaws when the carrier doesnt even flinch or bleed...
No shark can punch a hull plate. I used to know the tensile strength numbers but that was a few decades ago. One of your teeth are just about as hard as a shark's tooth. The shark tooth is a serrated cutter, not a punch.
Unlike my teeth and mouth, which has a biting power of about 80kg...A great white has a biting power of 1.8 tonnes...Sharks are my thing (as tensile strength is yours)...A great white's teeth ARE designed to be a punch initialy...then with the prey firmly locked, the shark moves its head from side to side (lie a dog) and then the serations on the tooth take over to open the bite holes until they meet the hole next to it and then tears a chunk off...
