    FLASHBACK TIME - ANGRY EMIL!!
Have you ever seen a Messerschmitt showing more 'attitude' than this one? This fantastic winter scene shows a Bf109e with the best nose-art I have ever seen on one of these little teutonic fighters. Let's hope we get to see a modern restoration emblazoned with these striking features some day!

They would have been 200 meters back down the runway before he was out of sight.

Two Naval Aviators did that to me, and a couple thousand other people, at a air show in Ill-annoy once.
We were all listening intently to the air show announcer looking in the direction he indicated and the sneaky son's of Neptune came flying over in F18's at what I presume was slightly below Mach 1 from behind us !! I'm sure they were above 500 feet but it looked and Felt like 50. Goosebumps, chills, cheers and a lot of stomping and jumping up and down ensued. Best flyby/fly pass I've ever observed OR felt.

Happened a Oshgosh a while back. F-14 I believe. Flew from behind the crowd, no noise, then a steep spiraling climb with full after burners. THEN the sound!

Darwin as you mob know is a busy Air Force area...I remember Mirages sonic booming just out to sea, then coming in low over Darwin. As a school kid on the oval, i could see the pilots and we would wave...I remember getting a wave back once.
They come in silent...then a roar follows.

The Angels train out of El Centro. Looking at the map you can see why.

'53 and some Sandys. Low and slow, the way to go. Hated fastmovers. Back on the tarmac before the bombs hit.
