Do Women Make Better Soldiers Than Men?

    You make me soooo old. In '68 the speech was 'It ain't a war, but we're sending 50,000 more'. PT gear was the field shirt (green) and bloused boots. Do they still blouse the boots? I always felt it had to be bad for circulation. The jungle boot was just coming in and I was too early for it. Qualified with the M-14, then the 16 later. Keds? Converse? Flack-jacket? Kevlar? I mentioned earlier that I cracked a tooth then I jumped from a truck and the steel pot hit hard enough to slam my jaws together (root canal without any pain killer).
    I do not want to disparage the fitnesses of present recruits, nor the traing programs of today. Your reply was well thought out and I am sure correct with regard to the body stress you mention. I doubt we were tougher or better than todays soldiers. Perhaps I'm that old that we speak a different language? Maybe.
