My wife and I just completed a journey of the title's extent. We had an absolutely amazing time seing this amazing country we have been blessed with. From NY to FL; TX to Cali; Seattle to Chicago and back over to NY. Just a really amazing journey.

It's a glorious thing, isn't it? I've never done 17K in one trip, but I did several 2-3K trips back when I used to be able to take 4 day weekends whenever I wanted.

Wow, Skipper, YOU deserve some sort of medal for enduring a Greyhound bus for that long!

A coworker took a 4300 mile motorcycle trip from DC to San Diego in three weeks. He went with a friend and his sister (3 motorcycles...Hogs, that is). He said the worst part of the trip was the desert between the Rockies and the Sierras. It was very cool in the mountains and like an oven in the desert. Next time he thinks he'll do the desert at night!

I'd like to do a drive around the US but maybe take 6 or more months to do it. Motorcycle? No way....convertible maybe!:D

Glad you had a great time and safe trip, Onthefield. Any photos???
