    Ok people, calm down!

sinissa, as a Moderator I cannot allow posts like the one I have deleted - consider yourself officially warned. Either make a rational argument for your case or back off. I know that this is an emotive issue for you, but please restrain yorself.

Grieg, Jens' posting actually supported your argument. Be nice to him, he was helping your case.

Take a look at smeghead's post (above) for a good example. Let us please more of that sort of thing....

Don't make me lock this topic and start banning people.

Sorry, but I said nothing improper to Jens. I don't think he was trying to help my case but it wouldn't matter if he was since, to me at least, this isn't about taking sides.
Unless I violate the rules I don't need moderator guidance in how to debate the issue, but thanks for the advice. Insofar as banning people goes unless you are using the term people to represent the singular case then I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Why do you think that I did not support your arguement about that there is no treaty that state that bombing a chemical plant is illigal?
I provide the law of armed conflict (which is an international law about whats is legal and whats illigal in war) and said that the law of armed conflict does not said anything about that its illigal to bomb chemical plants/factories, if that is not supporting your arguement on this issue, then Im not sure anything can support your arguement in this, there is no treaty or law that overrules the law of armed conflict (international humanitarian law (IHL)) when it comes to armed conflict and war
(but maybe the bombing duing the kosovo crisis was not an armed conflict?)
You asked for a treaty and I provide a treaty that supported you.

The bombing of kosovo was not only USA, it was NATO, so all accusation around that issue involve all of NATO since all of NATO took part in it (in one way or another) and therefor its NATO responsablitit if something illigal have happend duing the bombing.

And maybe it was not an american plane that bombed that chemical factorie that is referred to, maybe it was a british plane or another NATO member?

Sorry, it appears that my original post was less than clear...

(why does this kinda thing always happen when I'm off on holiday?)

How it should have appeared is here:
    Please note the little differences.

Because it spread propoganda, probably. Dead civilians are a byproduct of any war - which is not to say that makes their death right. The 28 people that died in the TV station were victims.

The question we musk ask, however, is victims of what? The direct cause was the NATO bombing, however that is a direct result of Milosevic's actions in the Balkans, which spanned several years. The Serbs and the ethnic cleansing (genocide) that was being committed had to be stopped.

Unfortunately, you have to break a few eggs to make a good omelette.

Broadcasting stations of any type can be used to relay not just entertainment programmes, but propaganda and military signals too, as such the case could be easily made that it constitutes a legimate target, especially if it is state run. The fact that civilians work there, as cold as this may sound, is frankly irrelevant.

If they want to stop broadcasting they can destroy relays ,antennas, etc, but they bombed main building, with all workers inside.

Anyway,i dont think that is military target, like many otther bombing targets ....

Take it up with the UN sinissa. They investigated all the NATO actions taken in that conflict and found no significant wrongdoing by NATO forces. The same cannot be said about the Serb forces though can it?
