Basically it's in a new class of weapons: the Personal Defence Weapon.

a guy on a tv show cant hit a van from 30 meters with even one bullet from a 30 rnd magazine?so therefore the ak47 is inaccurate?
this is yellow tv journalism at its worst...i could easily drive all 30 rounds through the drivers door at that range[semi auto] as could anyone else with any rifle practice at all.....a skilled shooter could put them all through the gas filler cap...as to toms sugestion of picking up a fallen enemies ak47 and useing it in combat...this is a very bad idea,,u see ak.s and m16s sound different...in the dense brush or darkness, soldiers often shoot at the enemies muzzel sound...a leut in my dads outfit in vnam was killed by us. troops by mistake ...for this very reason....many us troops were carrieing ak47s in 67,68 as it was very much superior to the m16..the army did outlaw this practice after several accidental freindly fire kills.[too bad 50 years later we still dont have a rifle as good as the kalashnikov]

Good in what way both the C8 and the Ak47 have their own advantages.

The C8 is similair to the American M4A1 but used by the Canadian army and I heard that it was adopted by the SAS.

For example the AK has superior stopping power but the C8 is more accurate. I could compare them more but I just dont want to.

the SAS get to choose their own weapons, depending from person to person and mission.

Well obviousy they will know howe to use it the M16 and M4 share like 80-95% part with the C8 as it is a Canadian version of the M4 which was made shorter. I heard it is used in Australia though.

Edit: According to Wikipedia (not the ebst source) the basic weapon of the SAS is the C7 which is the Diamaco version of the M16. Colt sold production rights to Diamaco to produce the M16 they amde soem changes sold the new design back to Colt and it ws produced as the M16A2 in the States.

The Canadian version of the weapon is called Diemaco C7, the most important difference with the M16 being the scope.

The Canadian version came before the M16A2, and Diemaco was the company that made the gun.

    RE: Fav/Best Assault Rifle

The AK-47 is certainly an excellent weapon. But in my opinion it will never beat the M16A2, MY favorite rifle. In a book I read that M16s have higher muzzle velocity than AK-47s. It can fit to all those attachments like the Armalite grenade launcher and the High Explosive Squash Head. Also the Brunswick RAW. But, the AK-47 is still awesome.
    PS. :bang:

    To Majorwoody10

Oh, and Majorwoody10, unless you give me the most absolute proof in the universe that AK-47s are superior to M16s, I'll NEVER believe it. Also, is it superior to the C7 and C8? Those are also favs of mine.

    The AK-47
It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon of fighters' love, an elegantly simple pound of algemation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn't break, jam or overheat. It will shoot whether it is covered in mud or filled with sand; It's so easy. Even a child can use it, and, they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars.

Bonus points for identifying the film that this has been ripped from :D
