If it was Germans defending i probebly would use Russian equipment if Americans I would use something really heavy maybe 3 king tigers to just roll in....

Yes it really depends who is garrisoned in the town

If its the Germans/Americans/Poms then I'd want a tank with very thick armor, to dissipate the damage done by infantry AT weapons like the PIAT or Panzerfaust... Something like the King Tiger or the Crocodile... A couple of T-28 tank destroyers might also do the trick :D

The Russians however were lacking in ww2 infantry AT weapons, the only one I know of to be produced in sufficient quantities was the PTRS, which was really just as a big sniper rifle which could damage light tanks... If facing them I'd use a less armored vehicle with better turret traverse, 3 Pz III Ausf E's would do...

The vehicle would be a Katyusha or Sdkfz 251/1 Wurfrahmen... To level the town beforehand

You guys are forgetting the timeframe. You can't have anything more advanced than the Panzer IV G or the M4/M4A1 Sherman. Otherwise something of a mix between regular Churchills and AVREs would do the trick...

I think the above choices for heavy HE and short barrels make perfect sense if no enemy armour is expected.

    i would pick
1 Panzer IV ausf. G to deal with heavily armoured targets
2 Panzer III ausf. N to deal with buildings and infantry

and the sIG 33 mounted on the Panzer I

I would use 2 Tigers to deal with the armored targets, and a panzer II ausf. L to take care of the infantry. And lastly, a v1 rocket to blast a bit of the town to hell, and as soo as the rocket detonates, move in.

You're aware that the effect of aerial bombardment on fixed positions is quite minimal, aren't you? Unless the Germans are in the open or moving about, your planes aren't going to help much unless you get lucky enough to score a direct hit, which is unlikely with a sortie of three planes.

And what's the Duck for? :D

Worth a shot anyways eh? As for the DUKW.....humerous factor? I mean who's gonna assault an entrenched enemy with a utility vehicle spearheading the attack? (No comments  )

    Besides, they're just really cool.
