Few more details on the Auction from CMV magazine; seems the Stallwood chap bought all 3 Stug carcasses, so that bodes well for a restoration. Most expensive Stug (remembering these are very wrecked) went for 185,000 Euros (£130k), lowest price 115,000 euros (£81k). Top price for a Comet was 25,000 Euros (£17.5k). For a Charioteer, 16,000 Euros (£11.2k). How the other half lives eh? Wonder if the Stugs are in Kevin Wheatcroft's yard already. Cheers, Adam.
WHOAAA!!!... Kevin has a LOT of really NICE toys!!!....... ...he a freind of yours, Poop? -whatever -Lou
No mate, and if he were we'd have fallen out over me stealing bits by now. He is just down the road from me though, I should hang around his bins in case they accidentally throw out one of the 3 Kettenkrads... We had a little thread about the collection, few more links on there. He now claims to have about 80% of a King Tiger, a Jgdpzr IV has turned up in his yard and a Valentine Archer's been imported from the middle east. Got 2 panthers under restoration now as well, first one projected to be finished by maybe June next year if I remember right. And the thought of a restored Terrapin gets me more excited than it probably should. Need a green with envy smiley. Cheers, Adam.
Phew...what a relief ! I thought Jagdpanther44 might buy one of them just to top me in the 'Show Us Your Militaria' thread.....
Looks like 2 of these Stugs and a Charioteer have turned up in Kevin Wheatcroft's yard (surprise surprise). Oh yes, he's bought this S-boat too... Wheatcroft Collection (Go to 'News' and 'Hi-res Galleries' for more on the Stugs; Stugg ) Cheers, Adam.
Snapped this weekend. Not one of those sold but a Finnish Stug 40 as recently restored for the Tank Museum by mike Gibb's SdKfz foundation : Cheers, Adam.
