FOOT LOCKER 1941 HELP PLEASE

    I'm afraid you'll never find out who owned it previously. Many thousands of these kasten were made and they did not belong specifically to a man, but were part of a vehicle, just like a spare tyre.
    They are nice to keep as relics with the German markings, especially if they still have the instruction label. Yours has been recycled by an allied soldier (possibly an Amercan, if the 1st Lt rank is confirmed) .
    It would be insteresting to find out if there was a veteran with this name. To enhance the name ,you could polish it with transparent shoe polish , this would restore some of the markings. The lowest digits could be his enlisting number.

    oh right il get some polish tomorrow and get back to you. do you know why it has a stamp for bed 99 on it? x

    It could be it was used as foot locker in a dorm or a hospital and the label would be the identification tag. I can imagine it was convenient for personnal belongings such as letters from home and pictures.
