Preseason ended already, they know they've got to bring their game from day one. I'll be betting against Liverpool winning the league, let alone the Champions too.

Wesley Sneijder feels he is swapping "one great club for another" as he prepares to complete his move from Real Madrid to Inter Milan.

Although the transfer has yet to be officially confirmed by either Madrid or Inter, media reports in Spain suggest a deal has been finalised for the 25-year-old Dutchman to join the Italian champions for a fee of around 15million euros.

Speaking to Marca about the seemingly imminent switch, Sneijder admits it is not easy to say goodbye to Madrid after two years at the Bernabeu but insists he is now looking forward to his new life at the San Siro.

"I'm going with my head high. I'm going to a great team, there's no doubt about that. I've been very happy here but now I have to look ahead and focus on my new team," said the former Ajax midfielder, who is set to bid farewell to his Madrid team-mates at their Valdebebas training ground this morning.

"The truth is that I was very happy here, it's something I cannot deny. It makes me sad to go but that's the way it is. That's life. Now the only thing I can say is that I'm happy. I'm changing one great club for another great club."

    -----------

    Great match on Saturday:

Arsene Wenger feels his young Arsenal side will head to Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday full of confidence.

Arsenal have now won all of their four matches so far this season and Wenger believes that makes "perfect" preparation for Saturday's showdown with the league champions, who knocked the Gunners out of Europe in last season's semi-finals.

"I am happy to go to Old Trafford because it is the first big test," he said. "You want always to have a high level of confidence when you go to Old Trafford, we have that at the moment.

"We are now in the top league in Europe, with all the big names. Our team against Celtic was an average age of 23.9 years.

"That is what we want to focus on, to continue to improve our team play, the speed of our game and show that we have made big improvements come Saturday at 5.15pm.

He added: "For us, it is most important to recover physically because Manchester United did not play during the week."

Yeah, I agree that Chelsea seems to have the best chance for victory in the league this year. Man Utd are good, but are lacking a lot of their threats. Man City are going to be a flop despite all their big names. You'd think they'd win by more then just 1 goal with all their spending in the summer. Liverpool to me feel like they're in trouble. Arsenal could join them if their goal scoring starts to dry up since RVP is really their only true goalscorer around. I'd have liked to see the signing of a powerful striker and a bigger (size wise) defender or defending midfielder.

Still, look on the bright side, the chelsea players will probably strike or something, there is no way they will make it through the season without somebody falling out with the manager.

    Oops! Chelsea in trouble....

FIFA's dispute resolution chamber found the English club guilty of inducing winger Gael Kakuta, 18, to breach his contract with French club Lens and banned the Blues from registering any new players for the next two transfer windows.

I wonder how Eduardo 'I tripped I stumbled I fell' will fare in the England game tonight.

Honestly, I think its a bit of an overreaction by the FA. Otherwise Rooney should be joining him (he did the exact same thing, kicking the ball into the stands then going down to draw a penalty) and speaking of Rooney, he did worse the Eduardo in the Slovenia game over the weekend - HE fouled the Slovenian player but drew the penalty (go figure). I think the whole thing is a little absurd if you ask me - half the league would be suspended for 'selling the ref' type of thing.

It should be stamped out though, they say everything evens out in the end but its embarrising to watch,
The problem is things will be strict for about two weeks and it'll all be forgotten about.

Argentina could be in trouble,no argentina in the world cup will be a disaster.

He didn't fare too well:D. But all that's been said about Eduardo. Having had a similar injury playing footie (My foot hit my knee:(). I know how nervous i was when i played my first competative match. And you really wouldn't want a repeat whilst the pin (nail as they call it) is in there. Or it's goodbye leg:eek:. It does play on your mind for a good while when you start playing again. Stewy

Ironically Eduardo scored against England  Can't deny he is a very skilled player.

Wales had a good match against Russia, and what a pass by Arshavin on that first goal! Glad he's on my team (Arsenal) and Ramsey had a good showing too (for Wales).

The Welsh would do better without Tosack as manager. A few players would rather retire than play for him. This is what Eduardo has his leg held together with & at least three self tapping allen key head screws. Can't find my screws right now but this is the pin (nail) that they put in your Tibia,it's hollow titanium. They were first used in the First world war by the Germans rather than setting the leg in plaster & risking it healing short or deformed. That's a 2 euro coin just so you have a scale of some sort. Stewy
P.S. I was lucky they took this one out after twenty months, just as well. I'm allergic to titanium.

    Some surprises today...

Manchester City's determination to break into the top four of English football was underlined in stunning fashion with a 4-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

    ----------

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina says that winning the Premier League title this season is "not a realistic objective" with the current squad.

Apparently Abe should have been sent off today for kicking RVP in the head, but got away with it. Didn't catch the game myself.

Just saw the incident and I hope the FA take up issue with it. Clear intent to injure if you ask me, nasty cut to RVP's face. He's a player that plays for the money and is a dickhead.

He'll definately get a ban,in his defence it looked like RVP did want to take him, arsenel supporters seem really really upset with the goal celebration.

I think reina regrets saying what he did, nobody ever said you had to be smart to be a footballer.
Since the transfer ban i no longer think chelski will win the league, they must be the oldest team ever to play football.Great goal be drogba though.
    Benyoun-better than ronaldo,better than rooney.

Running 90 yards down the field to celebrate the goal in front of Arsenal fans (or any former club fans) would make them riled. He should face suspension from that AND the foot stop. I used to respect him as a player due to his skill, but now I have no respect from him. He has grown to cocky, inlove with himself, and just plays for the money.
