Pessotto – Molinette Hospital - 02 July ”Gianluca Pessotto’s condition continues to improve, as doctors confirm he is starting to come off the ventilator and interacting with people around him. “He is still intubated, but last night we began to lower the level of the ventilator, so in part he is breathing unaided. Let’s say that he is dictating the tempo of the breaths and that the machine is helping him, but his body is responding well. Over the next few days we hope to take him off the ventilator completely. He opened his eyes and squeezed a hand. Now he can follow simple orders, moves his eyes and shows signals he can understand what is being said. Our objective is to slowly bring him to a state where he won’t feel pain even with only a small dose of sedatives. He’ll remain sleepy, but beginning to breathe autonomously.” - Doctor Pierpaolo Donadio. No.9
Hernan Crespo, the ‘just about’ Argentinean striker, currently with Chelsea but who has played all his better stuff in Italy, has re-expressed his desire to return to the San Siro in Milan, which he claims is immanent. Whether this will be for AC or Inter is not clear as the ‘phone call’ hasn’t come yet. Neither has his Italian passport which also appears to be just awaiting a rubber stamp . Would this mean FIFA allowing a National Team change – Crespo an Azzuri . ”England midfielder Frank Lampard has hit back at the critics who have slated his World Cup performances and told them to show him more respect.” Oh Frank, really. 428 Shots at goal, only three actually on target and no goals – first show something to respect . You’re supposed to reside in an annuls of football history, not the anus . And, FIFA have suspended Greek membership as they believe Greek football is controlled by the Greek government and not by their Football Association as FIFA require . No.9
Thanx for the info on Gianluca, No 9! I do hope he recovers and whatever the reason for his situation I hope they´ll be able to help!
Thanks Kai. I hope followers of International football are interested in his progress and non-followers in the story of a popular young man in tragic circumstances. Police and officials appear quite clear that the incident involved no third party and is not connected with the current inquiry into past Juventus affairs. Pessotto – Molinette Hospital - 05 July Former Juventus Coach Fabio Capello, who quit Juventus on Tuesday and heads off to Real Madrid, visited Pessotto last night. “He was awake and I got very emotional, he recognised me and I just spoke to him for a while.” Another visitor was former Juve colleague and 1994 World Cup player Antonio Conte who revealed the news of Italys’ semi-final. “He recognised me and smiled, I told him about Italy’s win and he subsequently clenched his fist. He made me understand that he was very, very happy. I told him that I had finished my coaching badge course and invited him to keep an eye on me as a future Juventus coach…. The visit went well, we also joked a little.” No.9
Stefano Palazzi, prosecutor in the Italian match-fixing trial – the Calciopoli - today announced the penalties the prosecution considers should be handed out, if the accused are found guilty . Juventus, at the centre of the trial, should be demoted two divisions to Serie C1, plus start the new season with minus 6 points, and, be stripped of their last two Serie A titles. Fiorentina and Lazio demoted one division to Serie B, and start the new season with minus 15 points. AC Milan also demoted one division to Serie B, and start the new season with minus 3 points. The initial 30 officials considered for ‘sporting fraud’, mostly referees - no players, which actually became only 26 indicted, has been reduced to 25 as one has been cleared of any wrong doing. For these individuals, Palazzi called for varying total bans within the sport for up to 5 years and multiple fines of 5’000 Euros for each separate violation. There is still to be a verdict which is expected to be followed by appeals as everything indicates it will be 'guilty as chaged'. Defence for Juventus appears to now be adopting a damage limitation stance as they stated a demotion to Serie B would be more appropriate? Juventus shares have already dropped 50% and still falling. Should they be demoted to Serie C1 it is likely to reduce their income by about 80%. Apparently, indications are also that the ‘money men’ behind Juventus would not be prepared to get their wallets out again – for the moment . IMHO, AC will not be demoted . No.9
Personally I´d be very surprised if any team got demoted but then again, Capello just left so...?? I mean if you placed this in the Premier league you would send Chelsea, ManU, Arsenal and Liverpool to the first division...
Quite right, and, with one of them going down to the Second Division! They seem to be particularly after Juventus and this is the only club apparently expected to shed players? Perhaps the feeling is that only Juventus will get demoted, and then to Serie B, while the others will stay in ‘A’ and just have points docked? Looking at the current transfer market: # Inter Milan claim they are to sign Fabio Grosso from Palermo nice # Sampdoria have finally signed Christian Vieri on a one year contract Vieri actually sent them ‘anonymous’ emails ‘for a fan’, saying how great it would be for Sampdoria to sign Vieri – then ended them with his signature! # Sven-Goran Eriksson has been offered £3m to coach Jamaica and that’s £3m too much No.9
Incredible, the news today claim Juventus would be ready to drop down to Serie B??! So they themselves also admit being guilty?!
Pessotto – Molinette Hospital – 07 July Disconcerting news as a setback occurs in Pessotto’s’ condition. Over the past few days his temperature has risen and he is suffering liver and right lung problems. Doctor Pierpaolo Donadio stated: “This is the normal reaction of a patient with these types of serious injuries. With the fall from that height, it’s a miracle he was alive when he reached the hospital and didn’t die in the first 48 hours. However, we are consoled by the fact there is no sign of infection apart from the temperature. These are complications that can arise and we can’t tell if there will be others. All the vital organs are at risk in these conditions.” No.9
Pessotto – Molinette Hospital – 09 July Doctors have ruled out the option of allowing hospitalised Juventus team manager Gianluca Pessotto to watch tonight’s World Cup Final. The former Italian international is making slow progress after his dramatic fall and there was the possibility that he could be given the chance to watch tonight’s showdown on television. But Pessotto, whose condition worsened on Friday due to a fever, has not been declared in a fit enough state to view the Berlin clash between Italy and France. No.9
The fever is probably due to the blood in the tissues breaking down, or maybe a true infection in the lungs due to the tube used for helping him breath for a while. You´d think once you survive the first 24-48 hrs that you have lived through it but some later phases can cause a reaction called MOF=multi-organ failure where several organs ( kidneys, liver, lungs )just stop working one by one. I do hope Pessotto is not going to have this because only a minority survives the MOF. This also happened in a way back in WW2 when people found from the ruins of their houses alive after bombings and with scratches suddenly felt worse after a day or two and died within a week or so.
Pessotto – Molinette Hospital – 11 July Italy returned to the peninsula last night and a number of the Giro Azzurro wasted little time in visiting Pessotto this afternoon. Alex Del Piero, Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, assistant manager Ciro Ferrara and trainer Claudio Gaudino all made the trip to the Molinette hospital with the World Cup trophy which they showed to the former Juventus defender. Del Piero, Cannavaro, Zambrotta and Ferrara all entered the hospital via a side door to avoid the fans outside who expected a visit today. It proved to be an emotional moment for Pessotto when he saw his former team-mates with the Cup. Del Piero stated: “I am very happy, as he looked much better. He is strong and now has to continue this battle. I’m sure that he will win it. He was waiting for us and, even if this has been a long day, it was a very powerful and emotional moment to be there with him.” Doctor Pierpaolo Donadio said: “There was a big smile mixed with a few tears, it was certainly a moment of great joy,” No.9
Hope Pessotto is still getting better- don´t know about his feelings after today evening... Italian quartet set to learn fate The verdicts of the match-fixing trial involving Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio will be announced after 6pm on Friday. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) will make the announcement regarding the fate of the Serie A clubs, as well as the 25 people under investigation, and it will be read out by the Federal Appeals Commission president Cesare Ruperto in Rome's Parco dei Principi hotel. Television broadcasters and radio stations will not be allowed to transmit the verdict live. www.teamtalk.com

Beautiful cheating diving greasy italian bastards deserve every bit they got. I would rather see Juve dumped in the semi-pro leagues. Btw, for anyone that doesnt know I am a diehard SV Werder Bremen fan @Inter Its funny that Inter will try desperately to get the title, as they havent won a scudetto in forever
Demotions and exclusion will undoubtedly have an effect on transfers. For one thing, with the expected loss of earnings Juventus are highly unlikely to be able to maintain their players salaries which last year were estimated in the region of £75million. By manipulating club points for the end of last season, here’s how the Tribunal have caused the final standings to alter. Revised End of Season Table and Euro eligibility Inter Milan 76 (Champions League group stage) Roma 69 (Champions League group stage) Chievo 54 (Champions League preliminary) Palermo 52 (Champions League preliminary) Livorno 49 (UEFA Cup) Empoli 45 (UEFA Cup) * Pending licence Parma 45 (UEFA Cup) AC Milan 44 Ascoli 43 Udinese 43 Sampdoria 41 Reggina 41 Cagliari 39 Siena 39 Messina 31 Lecce 29 Treviso 21 Juventus 0 (Relegated) Lazio 0 (Relegated) Fiorentina 0 (Relegated) Empoli have a dilemma. Being a small club with ordinarily no real prospect of playing in Euro competitions any time soon, and having a less than adequate stadium, Empoli do not have the required licence. Needless to say they are trying to sort this before the rapidly approaching deadline, including a facility to play their Euro matches at Fiorentina’s stadium. But, if they fail to get a licence, eligibility passes to the next in line – which is AC Milan Meanwhile, the counter-attack gathers momentum for its maximum deadline of 20th July. If the judgement stands, Juventus are all but effectively relegated to the second division for two years. Reason, in Serie B a team typically plays 42 League games in a season - 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Top 3 teams get promoted and usually around 76 points are needed to be in the top 3. Juventus are starting with minus 30 points. If they won all 42 games they would earn 126, less 30, = 96. But that is winning every one of 42 games. If they win 32 and draw 10, they’ll get 96 plus 10 = 106, minus 30 = 76, the estimated usual minimum to be in the top 3. One win less and they would probably fall short. Added to this is the extra quality they will face in having to compete with also relegated Fiorentina and Lazio. Have to say this punishment smacks of sadism more than retribution . And, the National League aside, though it is club teams and not National teams that take part in such as the Champions League, it remains tantamount to National representation. If they want to hit the club barons, fat cats, officials etc, hit them in their pockets and slap their public faces – don’t hit the players, the fans and the sport Internationally. This is a domestic affair, keep it in the home. No.9
