The utter stupidity of say "FDR got into the war in the Pacific in order to get into the war in the Atlantic" still stuns me. He was already operating "short of war" in the Atlantic. The Pacific was a distraction he didn't need.

What did FDR do about the annexation of Austria? Not much.

What did FDR do about Czechoslovakia? Not much.

What did FDR do about Poland? Not much.

It wasn't until France was in dire straits that FDR took a more active involvement. As such, FDR did little to hinder the Nazis. Even after the attack on Pearl Harbor, FDR did not declare war on Germany.

He took much the same course with Japan in the early and mid 30s. Doing little to punish the Japanese for China until the Chinese were losing badly. Had FDR embargoed Japan early in the 30s, before Japan had built up her military, there was no way for Japan to respond militarily.

To be fair to FDR, he did at least proclaim a limited state of emergency and ordered a 17,000-man increase of enlisted strength in the Army. :D

What's that really big nation east of Germany and and west o Japan...the name escapes me. They were not involved in Europe or the Sino-Japanese conflict.

Sorry, it has been pointed out that this thread should be moved to the Alternative History forum and I agree, that they should be. I will not be making any new comments on these Dracula threads, on the Prelude to War forum. If anybody, has any pull with the MODs of WW2, please ask them to move the Dracula Prelude to War threads to Alternative History. Thanks.
