Just a wild stab in the dark... King Harald Hardrada of Norway? Cos it dont sound like Harold or Tostig...
The hindu troops complained that the grease in their cartridges which they had to bite open was made of cow fat, whereas the muslims wer of the opinion it was made of pig fat. When in doubt, strike at the Brits! Which reminds, when shooting their rifles during the revolt, did the muslim troops exchange their ammo with the hindus? -------- "Hurry burry spoils the curry!" - sentence seen by me on an Indian railway station
Correct Za!!! I have wondered this alot! None of the books I have on the mutiny mentions how they fired their guns if they wouldnt bite the cartridges! I guess they either thought it wouldnt matter if they fired at the British or used their old Brown Bess muskets... But as it wasnt cow fat, I guess it didnt matter...
As it seems, no objections, so... Name an admiral but Nelson who died in his most triumphant victory.
Ehem… I don't think it's WWII since then it wouldn't be in this quiz and the Japanese commanders didn't die when they achieved their great victories nor did 'Bull' Halsey or Nimitz died… Kublai-khan? No, he lost… and that was because of Kamikaze. WWI? Battle of Coronel? That's America… and Von Spee died in the Falklands… Russo-Japanese War? Admiral Togo survived… didn't he? I have no bloody idea!
He is too unknown in the Western hemisphere... despite the fact that he's possibly #1 of all naval heros, maybe even over Nelson. He's Korean.
Do Rear Adm.'s count? How about Rear Adm Callaghan and Rear Adm Scott defending Guadacanal against the Jap fleet?
