Two marks of tanks started the war each in their own designed roles, but by the middle of the war they exchanged those roles. Which two marks were they?

The Hedgehog, first forward firing ASW weapon.
A typical barrage was 24 bomblets.
How far could they be launched, and what pattern did they land in ?

    Ok Thanx!

    Next question:

The Brazilian expeditionary force had its symbol a smoking cobra . What is the story behind that? ( the one I know and am asking is linked with Hitler ).

Hitler said that "snakes will start smoking pipes before Brazil joins the Allies." Thus, the smoking snake became the symbol of the FEB.

A small town in the State of Virginia, USA, lost 29 men in the first 10 minutes of the landings on Omaha Beach.

What was this town and why were so many men from this town in the same company?

Bedford, VA is the name of the town--now home to the National D-Day Memorial. I believe that the unit was a National Guard unit which was the reason so many men from the same town were assigned to the same unit.

Correct in all respects. They were part of A Co, 116th IR, 29th ID. Originally it had many more Bedford Boys in it, but they had transferred out by 6 June 1944. Five survived because they were in a landing craft that sank in the Channel on the run in.

You're on the mound now, Hessler.
