    No, no - neither Cheshire or Tait were on the Raid....;)

    Further clue : the man in question was flying Mossies operationally from Little Snoring in Norfolk when he flew over to show Gibson his aircraft......

    Further clue.....the man in question became an Air Marshal post-war and passed away in 1988.....

    it is of course Harold 'Mick' Martin who went to 515 Squadron on Mossies at Little Snoring some time after the dams raid ..died Nov 88 last rank Air Marshall

    After hours of research, I was going to say Amelia Earhart. My web source says she was found, had a sex change operation and became an Air Marshal in the RAF after the war. :vegetate:

    The History Channel is doing a show about it later this year.
