The Germans had no knowledge of the unconditional surrender and Operation Eclipse until late October 1944.
However the Germans had a lot more motivation then. Every Italian diplomat in Germany said that the Germans expected defeat. Also don't forget how the Siegfried Line of 1944 was much stronger in every way then the line of 1939 and some tanks like the B1.Bis, and the S.35 were capable of withstanding most of the AT guns they had there.
they couldn't get past the siegfried line they hade small operations but the Luftwaffe would get um with stukas or just bomb u'm
No crap. The siegfrieg line would have beat the French but if the British had attacked with the BEF, all of it, the war would have been over faster if the got to Berlin. If they didnt britain was gone france was gone and the USA wouldn't have had to bomb us because with the finns, germans, and japs attacking russia, it wouldnt have held
Um, the BEF, all of it, was only 9 infantry divisions (plus one division, the 51st Highland, having been sent to the Maginot Line to bolster the defences in the Saar region). It was highly thought of by both sides, and was very professional, and fully motorised, etc etc. But small, and with crappy tanks for breaking through defensive lines (most were poorly armoured, none had a gun bigger than the 2pdr / 40mm) I doubt France would have noticed if we were involved or not...
