    smeg ..a 60% survival rate for russian pows is higher than i woulda figured..several sources ive seen has the survival rate of germans who surrendered at stalingrad about 4 to 6 %...does the 60% figure include the million or so soviets murdered by stalin after they were repatriated to soviet hands by well meaning us and british forces?

    Sorry i meant 60% death rate at the hands of the Germans... Lots of POW's who survived the German brutatlity were labelled traitors and sent to the Gulag... about 1 million IIRC... there can't have been to many former Russian POW's left by 1945
