    i understand perfectly....esperit de corps,loyalty ,tradition ...these are very powerful human motivaters.what i dont get,is what the pols hope to acomplish by trashing 300 years of tradition....is it about saving money?
    im not so sure its going to be a saveings for them in the long run....

    The units are merged and consequently downsized, or they are merged into single units of their old size which means each unit involved in the merger is automatically reduced. This obviously saves money.
