A Chieftan MKll for 149,000...An Israeli Sherman for 293,000? ...There is some interesting bits on that Sherman in the blurb. Like about the long 75mm.

I was looking to trade my Mark IV in for a Mark V. Am expecting those Canadians to start a mass immigration South any day .

Interesting note on the Israeli Sherman, they eventually mounted a French 105 main tank gun on their M50-, M51 Sherman's . It was not a howitzer but a main battle tank gun. They had to shorten the case and obviously the chamber, shorten the barrel and add a bigger bustle on the turret back but it proved to be quite effective.

Just as soon as I get some "real" armour. Unarmored and lightly-armored vehicles won't cut it against you lot......

You'd think with the price of gas people would be eager to swap for a more economical tank.

Well I plan to put a diesel hybrid in mine , instead of a 1/4 mile a gallon I am expecting a 1/2 mile.

What's a measly €200-and-something hundred thousand to a distinguished upper-class man of the world like yourself, Von Poop? Remember, you can't take it with you. Looking forward to seeing photos of your new M4A4. I'll bet it looks great in your garage next to Peiper's personal Tiger II.

You're kidding? Those are the most outrageous prices I've ever seen for Jeeps.

    More money than brains.

Likely, the bidders are afraid to get their fingers dirty, and are willing to pay top dollar so they don't have to.

    I really don't know what's going on.
Hadn't looked for a while, but there's definitely something happening re. light-medium 'garage-able' softskins, in Europe at least (probably the lead market for historic MVs, so things may spread).
Allied armour appears to have reached a bit of a plateau after strong rises in the last decade, but things that would have been a few £grand only 5-6 years ago are now well into the tens.

One alarming possibility is that something 'trendy' is going on... Russians. Film stars.
Maybe the extra film supply companies that seem to have popped up are driving things.

As for an infantriehanger going for nearly 20K euros. We always knew German stuff would get even sillier, but not that silly.
And in a world where an R75 can make three times what a Kettenkrad might a few years ago, what the hell is the krad making now?
