Hope you don't mind me addressing both of your posts in one? :D

Yes, it is true that Greece is in a world of sh*t and this is the previous govt fault. The point that I was trying to convey is that the current sanctions on Russia placed by the U.S. and followed by the EU also had a negative effect of European countries. Countries with smaller/weaker economies really got hit hard especially when Russia threw in her counter sanctions. Countries like Italy, Greece, Spain didn't want anything to do with them but had to go along with what they were told. Many Greeks (whom I spoken with) were angry at the fact that they couldn't make their choice. They were in bad shape prior to the sanctions and were even in worse place afterwards with no help.

Unless the Greeks make some serious reforms, I can't imagine that Russia alone will be able to get them out of this jam. Tho I will say that Russia is in a position to provide significant help. With Greece out of the Euro these sanctions are void giving Greece the opportunity to really jump start their economy which was rapidly shrinking.

I'm far from sure that exiting the Euro will present much of an oppertunity for Greece to "jump start their economy". While they can ignore some sanctions the negative impacts on their economy and in particular their banks and ability to find capital are likely to more than offset any gains.

Greece's problems go back quite a bit further than the previous government fron what I understand of the problem. Just how to get there economy going is a problem with a lot of faces and none of them well understood, while some have theories on how to do it I don't think any are guaranteed.

Haven't read anything about Greeks questioning why a lot of Greeks don't pay taxes.
They talk a lot about how bad things are, how they could be expected to pay back this at that rate, how Germany blah blah blah. Everything except- why they got into the situation, and who in Greece really caused the Greek problem. Don't they realize the problem stems from not paying one's fair share of taxes.

I would like my country leave the Eurozone too and stop subjudging to European monetary hegemony and the dictatorship from Bruxelles.
