Sorry I couldnt reply sooner, I was in a Prisoner of War camp-Stalag Luft III, to be exact, and I just escaped.

    Anyway, thanks for this too.

    Take care--C.

    Hey Carl,
    12,000? yikes.
I could work on some of them, but 12k is quite a bit.
I might be able to find a translated list, I'll have a look around in Russian.
Is there any particular year/battle that you are looking for?
Are you just looking for the names translated?

Hi F/ thank you much. I would like to PM you on this soon as I can stop and think about it? I have something in mind that you might like?

As far as a translated list? ive never seen one-not that im saying there aint one but-ive never found one-looking under anything I can think of.

As far as awards for certain battles. I have the one for Stalingrad that Irsu sent to me a few months ago. I wouldnt mind having lists of them for battles like: Kharkov, Kursk, Moscow, Sebastopol, Leningrad, and others. But I know that will be a huge pain in the_________fill in the blank ;-)) If you could find a translation for the HoTSU for Kursk, that would be great. Im just starting to research the DKiGs for Kursk, I have Stalingrad completed as best as I can. That one was a minor headache compared to what I think Kursk has and will turn out to be? Whats taking me so long on Kursk is that im using about 10 or so diff sources just for a good German Order of Battle, and ever one of those sources have things that differ. Im trying to sift through all the BS, and come out with one smelling like Roses. So far, ive been several weeks on this one, and STILL finding discrepencies in them.

How do you rate the movie? From the few stills ive seen, it LOOKS good but with some childish elements thrown in by the Russian filmmakers.

I really enjoyed watching Brest fortress.
Minus: like most russian films it does have some propaganda and the tale is not always true to the word.
Plus: real bloody, lots of action, good camera shots.
I am not going to pick it apart. It was fun for me to watch and I have watched it twice so far.
you can probably download it and try it out for a while.then i think you will want to add it to your collection of russian films.
it is as good a film as the Star.So if you liked that one you won't be disappointed.

on another note you should go on the torrent network and find
Proverka Na Dorogh (Check-Up On The Road)
This is not available in English DVD.P2P is the only way to watch this film.
Eng.Subs can be googled easy.this is one grim partisan film.i showed it to my dad and he liked it.
mostly takes place in freezing russian winter.it is grim.
