Hello! I am new here and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Alana, and I am probably one of the few girls on this forum. I'm from New Orleans. I'm so glad that I found such a great forum! My friends and family are getting tired of my random facts and questions about WW2, so they are happy that I found this place, too. I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you guys!

    :salute: Alana

Welcome, Alana! I know you'll enjoy the forum! Lots of people here with all kinds of experience. If you want to know what it was like in WWII, read Sappers thread on his military experiences.

Do you visit the WWII National Museum a lot? I've always wanted to go there...

Hi I wonder if anyone can tell me where the Desert Rats landed on D-Day.
My Dad was in The Rifle Brigade as a sniper and was wounded at Caen in a bell tower. I never got to ask him where he landed and wondered if any one can tell me where their main activity was carried out. I have always been interested WW2 activities and there but for!!! I never had to go through the hell our Dads went through. It would be great to hear from any-one who knew where he may have gone.
