    if you can imagine this: a Wehrmact single or 3-speed special from the war in excellent condition would go for ........... yes we are talking big big bucks

    i think the german army is the best because they fared as well as they did with horses and cows and bicycles. and i dont thinks the americans had an assault rifle, a jet, or tanks fitted with infra-red night vision sights.

    From what I have read quite a few were surprised. Especially after hearing all the propaganda about the "Awesome" Wehrmacht. I wonder what the pilots that were doing the strafing thought when they were slaughtering all the horses :(.

    You do have to give credit though, those tough men and horses doing what they did against a more advancivly(If thats a word) equiped enemy.

    And no one is doubting that. That is not the purpose of the thread. Nor has anyone stated so. :rolleyes:. But it appears that those who are in awe or has the view that they were "awesome" tend to think so.

    What I find interesting about this picture is that if a US division came on this sight it would have recovered the guns and either put them to use or sent them to a holding site with other captured equipment. Any US division had the resources to do this, yet no German infantry division did; at least not quickly or economically.
